Your Goodison match day routine?

With the season almost upon us I am getting giddy I miss match days that much.

For me the whole week leads up to that point when you're sat at your seat at Goodison, ball on the centre spot when the ref blows his whistle. I just love everything about it.

  • Wake up and momentarily forget its match day then remembering.
  • Instantly be in a boss mood.
  • Bookies in the morning to waste money I haven't got on overly optimistic bets.
  • Wether spoons in Maghull for pre match pints (bite to eat if it's lunchtime/evening kick off)
  • Train to Kirkdale at 2.15 (or 45 mins before kick off)
  • Swift pint in the Albany
  • Walk to Goodison
Post match depends entirely upon the result but usually consists of another couple in the Albany then back to Maghull for a few in the local. Then I stumble back home with the tea for wife and kids (if it's not too late).

What's your routine? I can't fecking wait lads.

Your build up sounds like mine when I was in my early twenties. Now I go with my two grandsons, although thankfully they are almost of a legal drinking age so I hope to gradually wander back to a more booze laden affair. I still get a buzz walking up to the ground. Saturday nights are always dominated by how we get on.

Absolutely.

Nice to able to enjoy your tea and Match of the Day!

Never as routined these days with all the stupid kick off times! Hate early kick offs, home or away, because its too early for me to want dinner, but then Im starving halfway through the game! For a 3pm though, its the usual potter about and change my fantasy team Saturday morning and watch a bit of the early kick off, park up and get some dinner on County Road with my dad, 3 points, home for the end of the late game, order a curry, relive 3 points on MOTD!

Wake up.
Eat breakfast.
Tweet a lot.
Get a lift to Goodison Road.
Go inside Goodison.
Watch match.
Leave Goodison and walk down towards Walton Park.
Get picked up and sometimes stop off for a chippy tea.

It's bliss.

Drive to Liverpool
Couple of pints in the Leigh Arms
Curry and chips
Match
Drive home

Watch MOTD iff Everton have had a decent result.

Sleep the sleep of the innocent.

Wake up.
Get excited about listening the game on the radio.
Realise I'm actually going this week.
Insist we're getting in the ground in time for Z-Cars this week.
Faff around waiting for family to do things presumably more important than getting in in time for Z-Cars.
Swerve to avoid motorway snarl-up by the Wallasey tunnel.
End up stuck in a diversion by the Birkenhead tunnel.
Try to work out our formation from twitter.
Rush up towards the ground doing that not-walking-not-running thing like Barkley did for the England coach, because running at 25 looks daft.
Hear Z-Cars, FFS.
Get in the ground.

Wake up
40 minutes to catch the bus
stop for a quick pint before the bus gets here
Bus stops outside the ground, pint or two in pub.
If I'm hungry I sacrafice my pints for a hotwok + coke
Watch the match, cheer at some boss footballers, yell at some [naughty word] footballers
get the bus home talking about who was m1nt and who was sh1z
Get in, eat my tea and see if I have any plans for the night because no goodison wifi

Getting a season ticket in a few days in seats which will probably be taken for Chelsea and arsenal, will I just get given a random seat for them gAmes?

Wake up
Get Excited
Tweet about Excitement
Get ready and leave to get the train around 1:30/2 PM
Walk up from Kirkdale
Buy Program
Tweet something stupid about team news
Get in the ground
Watch match
Leave and walk back to Kirkdale
Go home and either Fume or Be happy about the result

Rinse and Repeat.
