Anyone had any bad injuries playing? I recently had an ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) reconstruction; I've had a nightmare getting it diagnosed and treated and I wondered if anyone else had any exciting injuries. I found it strangely exciting to have an injury like this - now I can empathise with Naismith!

It would be interesting to hear what experiences everyone else has had.

broke my elbow playing futsal in Argentina. Had to have a pin inserted and loads of physio. Still aches like a bitch in the cold.

On the plus side I slotted one of the nurses.

Hope your on the mend ok. I haven't really had any exciting injuries, broke a wrist once and damaged my finger ligaments other than that nothing major. I remember playing a Sunday league game once and an ambulance came driving up and onto the next pitch, the goalie had got his leg caught in a rabbit hole in the goal area and fallen over breaking his leg. Bit distracting but we played on.

You in Andover mate ? Did you get to the Saints game ?

Pissing about in goal when I was younger, dived over the ball and put my arm straight below my body to try and save it. Got my arm kind of jarred in the ground and my momentum meant it virtually snapped in two at the elbow. Lucky to still have movement in my arm but it was basically the reason I ended up getting released by Everton which was a bit crap. You could see the bone and everything. Still got a massive scar from where it ripped through my skin. So. Much. Pain.

Never missed a game from injury in maybe 300 games.

Got kicked in the schnozz once, had some groin strains..but nothing serious so far

Blocked a screamer once with my downstairs area and had to go off with half an hour left. Actual tears in my eyes. The worst part was that it was one of my own team mate's shots and it was going in.

Ball got played across the box and it was behind my so I turned with my back to goal and put my left leg up to take it down just as my fellow forward came in and piled drivered a volley right into my nuts from no more than 3 yards away. Utterly horrific, and as I'm on the deck he's having a hissy fit calling me all sorts for not hearing his shout.

Worse than the elbow break?
