Youngsters Released

Do you think the new boss had any say in these guys being released or will the club have acted on the likes of Kevin Sheedy's reports and recommendations. I would guess only so many can survive the cut before they are told 'YOU'RE FIRED'(n)

Sheeds and the whole team. Saddest thing you can read, footie related, is the list of released youngsters each season. So close to being a full time pro. Then. Nothing. Must be awful.

But, time again, the gooduns will make it. Take Robbie Savage. Average player at best, released by Utd in the Beckham/giggs etc era, and made a decent fist of it in the end.

Don't think so with George :)

Only joined the U16s from Chester under the radar, had a very uneventful first year in the u18s with injury and Hope, Forrester and Long up front. Only really started going this season and has scored 13 goals in all comps.

Personally i would have given him another year, but he certainly doesn't have the reputation that Long does.

Is Long more highly thought of than Hope and Mcaleny?

You dont think so? Really? Just cos he managed across the park? He loved Everton BTW.

Shanks made it abundantly clear in his retirement that he was far more welcome at Everton than Liverpool, he also introduced William Ralph as the greatest footballer of his or any generation, the best he had ever seen. I've found it odd why so many RS claim to be under the banner of 'Spirit of Shankley' when the club itself abused the guy?

Personally, ive never really saw much in Hope, always thought Forrester was the better of the two, but Hope suffered from being shunted out to the wing like Anichebe was on occasion under Moyes. Think he'll be released next year.

Long has really come on leaps and bounds now hes got playing time and improved his attitude (quite an aggressive lad) and hes done exceptionally well to get a place in the u20 World Cup squad. Scored 15 goals in all comps last season, really cool finisher with great movement, a poacher if you will.

I'd like to think it's because we have others that are ahead of them. Surprised at Hammar, but these guys work with them every day.

George waring is a shame, I thought he had the ability if not the little bit extra needed, I think hammer has gone because he seems to have turned into a bit of raheem sterling.. Tweeting pics of his girlfriend in the sauna.. Shame, good footballers, but it's more than that now.

Surely that's a plus if she is fit???

Maybe Hammar decided that he was behind Duffy and had no chance of playing in the near future so decided not to sign?
