Which young players at the club do you fancy to be pushing for a first team position this year?

Specifically:
- what do you like about them?

- what do you think they will add?

magaye think he is going to get a lot of people out of there seats, but i think we have picked up alot of great prospects look how man utd turned it round with youth 3 years we will have a quality side.

I'll start

Ross Barkley

Looks good on the ball gets forward well and according to his wiki page

wiki

"Moyes rates him as the next superstar in world football."

Must be alright then like.

I hope Barkley and Gueye will be established starters by the end of the year. Barkley looks ready to influence games for us now, though maybe in 5 minute spurts for the time being, and has looked the most likely to provide assists of our whole midfield in our last 3 friendlies.

Gueye looks to have a cross on him and the potential to be a 6-7 goal a year winger, but he's gone missing for (sometimes very) long spells whenever I've seen him play. Hopefully he grows into a first team place and becomes more able to stamp his mark on the game for long spells.

I think Rodwell has a couple of years of 'stagnation' ahead of him, though I expect he'll grow into a fine player when he's about 22-23. Even if Moyes just develops him into a clodhopper midfielder like Ferguson has with Fletcher he'll have been a worthwhile academy product.

There'll be a point in the season where Vellios is given a few starts because of injury. I really don't know what to expect from him.

Can't see any of the other prospects making many waves this year. Maybe Hallam Hope will be given a Vaughan/Anichebe style cameo on the last day of the season. Sadly I think the end is nigh for José Baxter. Hope he's at least given a chance to go out and impress somewhere on loan.

Obviously barkley and i hope for the continued progression of coleman and the fulfillment of rodwell's potential. Im still not sure if gueye has it in him to make it but im hopeful. The kid hibbert looks good too.

There's only Barkley that is going to be real top class player , magaye will be frustrating away from home , gives the ball away so cheap but he will certainly be a useful weapon at home , but sadly apart from that I don't see what the fuss is about , I would Sell Rodwell 2morrow I think he gives us nothing , Baxter will never make it IMO and neither will Vellios who to me doesn't have what you call natural aggression but I hope iam wrong

I hope you are wrong too as youth seems to be our only way to increase the squad.

From what I have seen with Vellios he looks very promising and puts himself about quite a bit. Only time will tell.

Sorry I actually missed someone out , I really like young Luke Garbutt , he's only just 17 I think but he pings the ball all over the pitch , he has a real wand of a left foot , wheather he plays this season remains to be seen , obviously Coleman but I don't class him as a youngster now , and he's defo not a wide player too

The one to watch this year would be COleman at right back.

It would be great to have him and Baines in the full-back positions.....

Also I think Fellaini and Rodwell will cement themselves into centre midfield +Barkley obviously sounds perfect.

yakubu will add some strength up front

In seriousness, I expect it to be a big season for Barkley. The one major positive of the Summer and he looks the real deal. Skilful, comfortable in possession, great vision, always wants the ball, one to watch for sure

Like everyone else, Barkley- great that he's come back so well (in fact, I'd say, shift Rodwell on before people cotton onto the fact that we have another, younger, better player to steal away), mainly cos he looks handy in areas. Would like to see Gueye get more time, from the few times I've seen him he's looked good, but needs more match practice to improve. And from the tiny bit that I saw in the USA, McAleny looked like he had a bit of promise.

Rodwell could be like a new signing. He needs to start stamping his authority on games this coming season if he really I to turn out to be the Everton stalwart we hope he will.

A midfield in 3 years from Fellaini, Rodwell, Barkley, Coleman and Gueye, could be, just could be, the best in the league for years to come.

I hope Vellios can step up and grab a few goals albeit I think he will be second or third fiddle this season.
