David Moyes has rubbished the latest batch of transfer rumours.
Recent speculation in the press has seen the Toffees linked with players such as Middlesbrough's Stewart Downing and Reading's Stephen Hunt.
But Moyes rejected those claims, instead calling for the media to take more responsibility for the 'stories' they print.
Moyes told evertonfc.com: "All the names that have been mentioned are a load of rubbish.
"I think it's time the editors of the national newspapers started asking their journalists where they are getting their stories from."
With transfer rumours the big talking point ahead of the January transfer windon, the Goodison chief reckons it is time for papers to cut out what he calls 'mistakes'.
"There is nothing from here about any of those players," he continued.
"That's not to say we don't think any of those players are very good players, but I think they have to start taking responsibility for some of the stories that are being written.
"I don't think I would get away with making as many mistakes as the journalists do.
"Whatever players you were going to mention to me are wrong," he concluded in his pre-Manchester United press-conference.
