Player Valuation: £15m
IMO all three should be in our starting 11 along with Baines.

In order to accommodate all of them Jags should be trained more in the RB role, leaving a defense of four pacey and sure on the ball players. This would allow our game to be build up from the backline with everyone not worried about passing it to one another.

Neville and Hibbert will be adequate cover for them and Gosling should be given some time to be eased into the team.

Jags - Yobo - Lescott - Baines

IMO that's as good a defence as any other team in the PL.

Would Jags be any better at RB than hibbert though, we all recognise that hibberts biggest problem is marauding down the right and delivering a lethal cross, I'm not sure Jags would be an improvement. It wont hurt to try it though pre-season.

Yobo has actually played on the right with some success in the past.
I MUCH prefer Jags and Lescott at the back.

No point in trying to fit square pegs in round holes.....

He's (jags) not a right back, so dont play him there. Either buy a right back or play neville or hibbo there.

With all the games we play, we need three or more CB's anyway. Big teams, big squads.

He does'nt have to be a square peg and the RB position does'nt have to be a round hole.

Players evole and so does the positions. Twenty years ago the requirements for a full back was not same as today. The requirements for the full back position today is pace, comfortable on the ball, defending and being able to join the attack - IMO Jags can do that. Arteta did not start out as a right sided midfielder but he is better there than in the center. I know there are examples that show it the other way around, but in preseason it should be given a try. But I agree that the amount of games in a season calls for at least three good CBs.

IMO Jags would never be good enough at right back. He's not that pacey not that good on the ball, their not his strenghts. He's a solid centre back, an it should stay that way.

Neville is fine at RB and I think he'd do better there than Jagielka. Arteta and Neville seem to have gotten used to each other playing down that side and although Nevilles short passing may not be the best, is Jags any better? Neville can still cross and defend well at RB.

Nev Yobo Lescott Baines

Baines is [Poor language removed] good, he should've been starting most games this season.

baines can use the ball well and has pace. thats what we need on the right.

we can have hibbo in the team if we have better ball players in the midfield.

moyes should employ a training method where all the players rotate positions every 10 minutes so they are used to using the ball in different scenarios and widening their understanding of the positions of the pitch. 11 ball players. imagine that.

Is that a training tactic that is in use by successful clubs?

funnily enough it is. most south american clubs and i believe the academy at ajax like to play players out of position every once in a while to help their understanding of using the ball.

the goal is to have a squad who are comfortable at all times on the ball anywhere on the pitch.

After watching Jags against Real Salt Lake in preseason at right back, I would say no.

Granted it was preseason but I'd rather have Hibbert at right back than Jags.

fair enough, tx you are the expert after actually seeing him play in that position!

but.. i think jags is 10 times the player he was at the start of the season. jags, yobo, lescott and baines in the same defence is just too damn cool. perhaps yobo at right back?
