SATSUMA

Player Valuation: £25k
A game that was all over after 6 minutes and from a tangerine perspective very disappointing.
Everton were better all over the pitch in all honesty, were physically stronger(as I was afraid they would be)and looked like they wanted it far more than we did.
Drenthe-although he looks a bit of a headless chicken in some games I`ve seen him-was superb and gave Stephen Crainey`s understudy(Bob Harris) a torrid afternoon.I was disappointed though that we even managed to make Felaini look good!!:(
I was very disappointed in Ollie`s team selection as it was EXACTLY as someone had posted in a rumour on our board yesterday morning. We put a stronger team out in the replay against League One Sheffield Wednesday than what we did at Premiership Everton, which when you have 6,000 expectant fans there can`t be right!:@
Matt Phillips may have been injured but there was no real excuse for the other 4 or 5 regulars missing, other than a big game against West Ham on tuesday night...which Holloway is gonna look pretty stupid in if he`s rested them for that and we still lose!
As for the goals,we were caught cold and the defending was absolutely shocking.I didn`t feel the second one should have stood though as the ball appeared to come off Drenthe last for the 'corner'. However,in the bigger picture it didn`t matter as you should really have beaten us about 7-2.
As for the penalty...it was NEVER a penalty in a million years, but I think after a poor start to his performance the ref started to feel sorry for us and gave us quite a number of decisions that were wrong.:)
Super Kev who looked embarrassed it had been given then stepped up quickly and did something Jonny Wilkinson would have been proud of!:(
Anyway, all the best lads and lasses in your quest for silverware.I`ll be willing you on as Everton is a PROPER football club..(y)

Cheers mate hope you enjoyed the game. We got the early goal and that helped us relax, going two down in the first ten must have been devastating.
Yeah looks like Holloway made the league his priority and whilst I don't blame him the thousands of travelling tangerines just might.
Good luck for the promotion surge anyway be nice to see you lot back up. Love that Phillips is still banging them in too.

Thanks for that mate but I think your mention of making Fellaini look good was a bad move as you'll get stick over it. Fellaini is world class and your comment shows how badly done he is on MotD highlights. As for the penalty, I for one thought it was one, if only for the fact that Johnny fouled your feller before that. OK, it may have been soft but when they tangled again I reckon it was a bit like a yellow card for constant infringements and JH should learn to be a bit less aggressive in and around the penalty area.

As for Ian Holloway's team selection I see his point. You were never going to beat us no matter what team you put out, so he erred on the side of caution as the last thing he wanted was injuries to his key players ahead of the West Ham game or, if you had managed a draw, a replay. It's a case of getting your priorities right. He knew it even if the fans didn't

Good luck in your push for promotion. It'll be great to see you back in the Prem and great to see Ollie's interviews again!

Cheers lad. I was speaking to some Tangerines on the way home and they were all brassed off about the team selection. Good luck on Tuesday and for the rest of the season. Hope to see you back up next year.

Cheers, Satsuma- a mostly sound take on the game. However, as foretold by Everton1963, your jibe at Fellaini did not go unnoticed here. Fellaini is a dominant and controlling midfielder who has proven so at the likes of Man City, Chelsea and in countless other matches. I challenge you (in a gentlemanly fashion) to speak to his alleged gashness.

Cheers mate, credit where it's due.

I travel to all the England away games with a Tangerine and, like him, you're a credit to your club. He also says pretty much says the same as you about yesterday. Just like others have posted above, I wish you all the best and hope you squeeze through the play-offs again (can't see you snaffling an automatic spot).

Happy with the performance by Everton yesterday and as above we could have scored an avalanche of goals the amunt of chance's we missed, but all it would have took to make everton nervous was that phillips free kick to go in instead of hitting the bar, anyway i would like to se Blackpool promoted again as i like the mad boss and the way blackpool play football.

It`s only my opinion mate but I reckon you only like him cos of the haircut, which makes him a bit of a character and a cult hero!b)
As a footballer he`s Bambi on ice.
However, yesterday against a physically smaller team he was able to bully people and that made him look good.
Just my opinion like as I don`t see the lad every week, close up.
I don`t want my opinion of him detract from your win yesterday though, which was fully deserved.

No offence mate but if you're gonna come on here talking rubbish then you're better off keeping your opinions to yourself!
