The point is that Utd don't want to sign him at all or as fourth choice. I don't think I would feel too confident going to a club where I was their fourth choice. I am not sure how convinced the Utd supporters would be by him or how many bad games he could have before being written off by them.
At Everton the pressure will be less and he will be competing with Keane and Jagielka initially.
It is up to Everton to match his ambitions .
Failing that, if his move turns out as well as that of Lukaku it will hardly be a disaster.
