I don't disagree that is partly the only way we can progress but I suppose they have to be of an age where they have something to prove and not a cast off. He does seem ambitious but I presume he would just use us as a stepping stone which is fine but he has to prove he's worth it first.
Just feel like it's hard for a player to look at us as something other than that until they play matches in Goodison and we show why they should stay with accomplishments on the pitch and the culture of the club off it. Normally they know nothing of the club's history but they can be convinced as I'm positive Rom could have been if we achieve things together. After he scored against Arsenal and ran to Martinez holding up 4 fingers I know we could have tied him up long term if we went from strength to strength after that game. Unfortunately for us Crystal Palace chose to ruin that but they will also be fondly remembered crystanbul.

This transfer reminds me of the Keane one last year. Hope United dont pull out again because they realise he's not that good and we end up paying big money.

Great point this, it's one reason why Rojo can't be an option, we can't go for players who the top 4/6 have seen as not being good enough.
We have to go for players those clubs are overlooking and convince them to come
I don't mind players that are seen as not good enough at their current clubs, on the condition that we can both mutually benefit from being able to progress together. I don't particularly want Rojo for that reason. He's more or less the player he is going to be for the rest of his career and can't progress with us. Mina on the other hand is a player a big club have deemed not good enough but I think we can progress together and hopefully through that progression can convince him to stay if the club decide they think he can progress with us to the top.

I would think that his agent is dealing with clubs directly rather than just reading newspaper stories.
Right but what I'm saying is that maybe his agent is having words with other clubs who are keeping his hopes up which is where these stories are coming from when really not much is actually happening

Remember the time Man Utd let Pogba go because he wasn't good enough? Or when we let Dier and Mustafi go? Some players just don't fit certain teams, but can shine when playing in a different system
