I could understand the FA getting shirty with Moyes for his rant if the ref hadn't awarded us a penalty at all (in the first place). Moyes would have seen it as a peno and ranted away - probably too strongly etc. etc. What we have here is a complete travesty of justice where the ref points to the spot - he's seen a handball IN THE BOX - then consults an assistant whose view of whether it was in the box or otherwise couldn't possibly be as good as the ref's - and then promptly takes his word and gives a free kick. Clearly the assistant hasn't alerted him to a foul on the defender so what could possibly justify a change of the decision - apart from the fact that Wiley is one or both of : Incompetent and/or anti-Everton (Blackburn away, last season, in case you'd already forgotten) - so no wonder Moyes was apoplectic about the changed decision.

if moyes had a dollar for every time he got in trouble for post match comments that were completely correct, maybe we'd have some more money for the transfer market

Then we could have bought the whole Chelsea squad and still have money left for half of Real Madrids starting 11 and get rid of our debt.

Whether Wiley [Poor language removed] up or not is irellevant to the FA. If Moyes was deemed to of gone overboard in his protests and Wiley was right to send him off he will get a ban.

Although i'd love to be a fly on the wall at the hearing.

Be very interesting to know exactly how Wiley explained himself. To me a simple apology is not enough, he must explain why he gave the penalty then changed it to a free kick.

But i dont suppose the FA give a [Poor language removed] he [Poor language removed] up and nearly cost us. Not much chance of him joinging Mark Halsey down in league 1 is there.

I think his linesman thought it wasnt a pen, and that made him doubtful, and you shouldn't give a penalty if its a doubt...So, its the linesman's fault - lets all go hunt the linesman instead <grabs Pitchfork>

Yes but the linesman is not the ref.

If the ref saw a pen, he should have give it. What if theirs a takle in the centre that the lino thinks was ok? not give it. The ref has the responsability, he should have give it.

He got it right first time......

He [Poor language removed] it, end of.

and the name of that russian linesman... yes... 'that' one!!!

remember people, 'responsibility' is a dirty word in britain.
