Yannick Bolasie

You need players like Bolasie who are better than what we had already, but not quite at the level we're aspiring to be, so that you can then buy the top 4 standard players in the future. City have taken years to get such a talented squad. People seem to be forgetting that you need to build these things and that it doesn't happen overnight.

Bolasie is inconsistent - he can go from frustrating to great back to frustrating in a single game - but he's still the best winger we've got at the moment and the only one that's consistently creating anything.

Thing is 25m, we should be buying consistency with that. Not a streaky player who looks good 1 game in 3 or 4. But he's always been a streaky player, so shouldn't really expect too much. I just think, with the money we spent we could have done a hell of a lot better. Seemed like a panic buy at the time.

We paid the going rate, apparently.

Except Chadli went to Bromwich for less than half that. But it doesn't matter because it weren't our money. :coffee:

He's crap, but reading the crazy attempts at justifications for a blatant domestic panic buy to appease the fans after selling Stones is great fun. Keep it up lads.

to be fair too bolasie, no other winger / attacking player has supported rom at all and hes getting all the flack, geri has been woeful, mirallas invisible, ross has been terrible, i think bolasie is the only one who has done anything and seems to get the most flack dont think it is the worst start ever and he will get better

Absolutely, Bolasie is working really hard for us and too much responsibility is being lumped on him in games because others are horribly inconsistent. Yes, he is a bit limited but he has done more than most so far this season.

Absolutely Loling at people saying he's crap when he's been the most effective player going forward apart from Lukaku.

People fawn over Mirallas and Deulonoshow having a good games once every two months but this guy gets grief every game.

Everton fans 2016, everyone.

LOL

Think in a sense that is exactly what is wrong with the team mate.

bolasie has been a bit crap at times, yet seems to hit a cross or a pass or get robbed of a goal and all of a sudden statistically he was one of our best players on the pitch!

But then again i don't think anyone expected ronaldo esq levels of quality from him in the first place. So overall he has been better than most of us expected

So you're conveniently focusing on assists rather than chances created so you can use it as evidence that he hasn't been good enough? I assume you've watched a lot of Palace over the past three seasons to come to the conclusion that he's been poor at creating chances/assists then?

And as you've mentioned it, it wouldn't be that far fetched to think that maybe the ability of his team mates did have an effect on his output. Connor Wickham, a 32 year old Emanuel Adebayor and now Championship striker Dwight Gayle were the options they had up front. Hardly a great strike force is it? 9 goals between the 3 of them all season. Or is their lack of goals all down to Bolasie as well?

I assume you haven't watched him a lot at Palace then. As over his career, including his time here, he's created .......................22 'big chances'. twenty two! Bare in mind the quality of Palace' strikers as you mentioned, he probably should have more assists, but 22 'big chances' created is a shocking statistic. Even more shocking looking at them stats is the fact we payed that much. From 514 crosses too, tells you all you need to know about his crossing as well!

So you're saying Lennon, Mirallas and Deulofeu are all better?
