Liverpool paid stupid money for a player who had a purple patch, Palace were desperate for a forward and he was one of a few that would take the step down...the fee paid was madness but guess it is standard for players in this money frenzied world of football
I Lukakus case we got him on loan after a successful spell at WBA, we had him for the season and he helped us in our best points total ever. We then signed him and he went on to have another successful season in relation to scoring goals

The point is Lukaku is proven

Benteke has got a very good record in the premier league. Daft to say Liverpool bought him on the back of a purple patch. He even managed 9 league goals last year which is impressive considering.

Im going against the grain and consider it a very good block by their defender who was in a perfect position.

Bolasie may be "creating" chances, but tbh its not from skill per se, its him knocking in crosses without looking after being given the ball 9/10 attacks.

Maybe its just me but it seems that ALL our attacks go through him bar anyone making a run forward with the ball.

Im hard pressed to give him credit when hes not even looking when he randomly puts in crosses...i mean by the law of averages someone will eventually score lol

His pass top Lukaku, his cross to Barkley, his pass to Gueye, his cross to Lukaku vs Sunderland... They were all inch perfect.

Bit of a stretch that.

One has a Premier League strike rate of 54 in 123, and the other has 65 in 145. Lukaku is scoring at a rate of 1 every 2.23, compared to Benteke's 1 every 2.27.

I imagine they'll be close again come the end of this season.

I don't think he puts them in randomly .. he puts curl and pace on them and puts them into dangerous areas... basically the gap between the keeper and the defenders... nothing wrong with that IMO... that's what wingers should be doing

Id love to see a breakdown of where the crosses land...just seems to me hes hitting and hoping...thats fine sometimes when on a fast counter or with loads in the box, but every time?

Lukaku has played 123 prem games and score 65 goals so around 1.87 average
Benteke has played 101 prem games and scored 54 goal so around 1.87 average

If hones I didn't realise he had scored so many for Villa - 42 goals

If honest I still think Lukaku has more to offer alround, but can see your point:)

Yes, he was, I love Gerri.

But he's been very wasetful when played so far this season.

Bolasie isn't starting over Del anyway...

Of course he is, played so many mins on the right. Again, Friday Deulofeu could have played in the same role.

He is a confidence player who should be in the team, and would be if Koeman hadnt wasted so much money on a clown.

He would have played Friday anyway if not for breaking down...
Gerri will get plenty of game time. He needs to step up when he does though - he was so wasteful against Norwich and he was the worst player on the pitch when he came on against Bournemouth.

We all know the talent is there, but he has to improve.

This Bolasie, the wannabe grime music artist, is absolutely poo. Hopefully the media got a decimal point from and he really cost 2.5m, as that'd be a lot more accurate. Imagine spunking 25m on him

Bit harsh! Hes only played, what? 5-6 games for us? And he has been good in half of them.

Wouldn't worry about what he cost. Transfer fees are up the wall right now.

He delivers into an area.... that area never moves ... every pitch is the same... hopefully after time ... our players will learn about eachother and lukaku etc will know when and where the cross is coming from and attack the areas before the defenders know and before the crosses come in
