Not good enough to start for palace in a home match they should be winning then ?

Anyway.. I'm sure he will be ace for us, I was expecting Mourinho, Witsel, Mata, Bony... So I guess I need to get my head round the level we are really at.

He didn't start because of the whole thing involving £25mil and a switch of clubs though

If Koeman wants him, he's good enough for me!

He was very good in 14/15, but didn't kick on (for a variety of reasons) last term. Some of those reasons were his own faults/limitations, others not so much.

Think he'll prove good for us.

Main one was an injury for two months though mate, he started the season well enough as did palace - season fell apart once he was injured

Thing is Dave, how many games per season will Mirallas or Deulofeu for example be out with a knock (or in Kevs case a red card suspension), if the plan is to have two pacey wingers - then you need 3 of them at around the same level as each other - for my own opinion Lennon is not good enough or really suited to the way koeman likes to play.

Bolasie is a known commodity - you know what your getting and thats a very dangerous but inconsistant player who on his day is unplayable and a match winner (and how many of ours can we say that about in all honesty?) - IF Koeman thinks he can iron out that inconsitancy then yeah he will be worth every bit of the fee - and wierd as it sounds - 25m now and for the forseeable future is not going to be regarded as a massive fee anymore.
I disagree mate. Lennon gets through a lot of work and I'd see that as an attribute Koeman would reward. The advice apparently given by Koeman to Deulofeu and Mirallas needn't be given to Lennon, he just applies himself regardless because it's a huge part of his game. He wins the ball and can turn defence into attack very quickly. At the very least he's a squad player Koeman could conceivably use.

Overall though I'd say it's all about deepening the quality of the bank of players we build up in each position. You think that Bolasie does that; I have concerns about it. As said: half that price and no one could take issue with it. If we have limited resources still, which I suspect, it may prove money ill spent when other areas of the team are crying out more urgently for big spending.

My opinion differed with @steven last Tuesday as I wasn't keen on the transfer. But, as you state, if he is right for Koeman, then no more explanation is needed and I will be more than happy to eat humble pie. And Steven can watch.

Comes across very well in his interview IMO.

The signings may well not have been A list, or potentially even B list so far, but I think we can safely say that all four have improved the team in different ways.

Losing Stones is a blow, but not an unexpected one.

We've brought in a keeper who is a real improvement on Howard. I still think it's an area we need to address but Stek's signing has given us some breathing space at least - for a fee worth about 500k...

Gueye - great debut. Too early to judge fully but he brings real energy to a midfield that has lacked it for too long. Koeman said he was really impressed with how him and Barry fitted together, so I think it may be a case of trying to get a midfielder in who can phase Barry out but also add a bit more quality on the ball, with Gueye doing the running.

Williams - great signing. Adds leadership, organisation and great defensive ability. Will help take the pressure off Jags IMO and can play a number of systems.

Bolasie - a lot of money, granted, but brings excitement and spark up top but with the added facet of proper power and strength. Can play in numerous positions and gives us loads of options.

Add a few more and retain the key players and we've got the makings of a real squad, with a proper manager.

Cool, now we've got just the player we need.

When what we need is someone to run really, really fast straight at the opposition back 4 and then lose the ball.

Probably should wait until deadline day is over before working your head around anything.

Halve the fee and I'd be chuffed.

I'll support the lad and get behind the team. But i'm definitely looking left and right on this one.

Can't help feeling if palace replace him with sissoko thatll be a very nice piece of business for them.

Not unhappy about the signing at all mind, just not overjoyed.

Welcome Yannick, though you've done well against us, I can't say I've ever really rated you, but Koeman and Walshy know much more about footie than I do so I now think you're boss.
