Yak is the best striker we've had for a long time and is probably the closest we'll get to having a top class player there. Shame he got injured and we've ruined him. How we're going to replace him for 1 pound I don't know.

We just lumped the ball up to his head to be honest, he had nothing to work with. I can't even remember us getting the ball into his feet. As for his body language, I'm not sure I agree with that, Yakubu is never going to chase after things like Cahill or Pienaar, he's a completely different player, much more laid back. Every player is different, they all carry themselves in different ways.

He puts alot of effort into other areas of his game. He always makes himself available, is willing to drop deep and creat for others and he puts himself about. He uses his head really, and is a intelligent footballer. These areas of his game more than make up for aimless running.

We had a good balance and Moyes completely messed that up, played Saha for 3-4 games, and the rest is history really. The ball doesn't stick, we look unbalanced and there's a lack of variation in forward areas.

Cheers mate. Said what I wanted to say, but more effectively!

Hope he goes, he's awful.

"But he brings da midfield into play!"...that's cause he's got less pace than Dan Gosling.

A lone striker has to bring the midfield into play. If he doesn't, then he's [Poor language removed] at being a lone striker. That's our system of play, and it has been for years, so don't mock it. Yakubu did that for us spectacularly in his first season for us, and netted a lot of goals too.

And in 50 appearances since his injury he's scored 7 goals, he's gash.

We need the thoughts of some sort of Dutch fitness guru type hombre. We won't get any I'll say take a good look at the athletes physique, which is heavily laden with muscle...look at his age (actual or Nigerian), then imagine the acceleration of slowness we're going to see over the next 18 months.

Now is the time to sell at any sort of realistic offer.

Let's break it down, he was brought back very early from his injury, and this season hasn't been given anything resembling a chance and a consistent run in the team.

Yak is class, one of the best footballers at our club, and it is up to the motivator Davey to get him there!

He's never relied on pace, I don't know where that comes from to be honest. How many times did he outpace a back four and score during his first season here? Two or three times, if that.

Yakubu's always been a back to goal striker. He's strong, intelligent and is very aware. Most of his goals where scored in and around the box.

I'd still be sad to see him go, he's the only forward we have who makes the 4-5-1 work.

Agree.

Also, I don't buy into the "He's been [Poor language removed] this season" thing. Granted he's been AWOL in a few games, but that's due to his confidence being shattered after being dropped when he does actually play well.

If we can cash in for a decent fee, then yeah, but nothing less than £5m for me.

Yeah, it's that simple.

Not like he had a career-threatening injury or anything.

It's been nearly 15 months since his rehab was almost completed though mate. We need our striker to score goals, since the start of the 08/09 season he has scored 12 times in 65 appearances, which is pathetic.
