Eldest wants an x box one for his 8th birthday. Unfortunately my gaming experience stopped when I managed to draw a curve on an etch a sketch...

So, wanting to know what I should be considering, hopefully avoid having to register him online, prefer not to use downloads etc , memory capacity, limited useage considering his age. Obviously he's looking for Fifa17 so want him to play it offline as an 8 year old.

All advice genuinely appreciated without the mention of sawdust, flux capacitors, coin operation and gas powered consoles.

Lego games are good mate for a kid, not lego dimensions unless you want to hand over bundles of cash.

You only need to register online to play against other people, you make an account but don't need to set it to online, plus you pay for that feature anyway.

Plus it might be a good bet to look into getting a game called disney infinity. They have stopped making it so loads of places sell the little figures for it cheap as chips, like 2 quid a figure or something.

Impressive, and more than I ever managed

Also memory isn't an issue at start, probably hold about 10 games give or take on the console, 1tb consoles exist but cost a lot more.

Just get a cheap hard drive in the future if need be.

And no point in buying the xbox one s mate, just upscales the games a bit, unless you plan to play it on a 4k tv then no point, just get the normal one as it's cheaper.

I opened this thread because I was baffled why you'd be asking for advice on such a thing, so I'm just pleased it's not for you.

That's all I have really. Good luck.

Edit : Oh, if Ash's advice gets too much then just stick him on ignore for a couple of days.

You would have to pay for 'Xbox Gold' or whatever it's called for him to play online, so if you swerve this, he can't.

You can still purchase downloads with that subscription, but obviously don't save your card details!

This one is the one you want fella. Pretty good price, good memory, you usually get xbox live for like a month for free, so the option is always there and also you get Fifa 17 with it
