I don't want to come across as a "get offah mah propertah" sort of person, but honestly it is the root cause. Every time someone is kicking off or posting something unbearably stupid, it's someone who used to browse Kipper. 90% of the Tw*tter b*llocks in the Everton forum came from an ex-Kipper poster.

By all means I welcome the decent chaps from there, but the idiots can take a long walk off a short plank as far as I'm concerned.

The problems were hardly confined to new posters posting transfer rumours they heard on twitter though. But the best thing to do with them is ignore them, not open the thread and post abuse to the thread starter thus keeping the thread alive.

That was too difficult for some people though, same as with any thread or post that doesn't meet with their approval.

Every so often we do get a thread like this. It really is down to another major forum closing, posters from there carrying on here as they did there.

Also the summer is always a crap time on the forum. We have had lots of posters in the past go on a disgruntled spree telling us how to run the place to get it back to the "good ol' days" and how it is worse this time than it has been in the past. Truth of the matter is we don't need to do anything. This is a cycle that comes and goes. GOT will be back to its homo-erotic best soon enough. Just weather the storm and you will be rewarded.

Perhaps it's me , but there doesn't seem to be the same atmosphere on here now, so I swerve the posting and mostly lurk in the shadows..

Same for me really ! I don't mind the Kipper influx at all as I often lurked on there and saw some funny stuff. What sort of killed GOT for a while for me was the LCAB nonsense,probably a nice fella but he did my head in...but hopefully I'll gradually come crawling back at some point.

didnt think the summer was that bad, the olympics thread was superb, and of course DAVIDMOYES dropping some huge sauce on us all, theres an influx of posters from kipper no question, those who will become part of GOT will stay, those who dont suit the forum will get banned or leave, with a couple of exceptions
