cant see it mate... if he cant keep in good shape and fitness under fergie then there isn't much chance for anyone else, especially if he moves from united

His fitness and shape wasn't the problem at United, it was the fact he was being played out of position and was dropped for the big games. Was very unlucky last season. I'd have him back in a heartbeat.

seems like you know more than fergie himself but there you go! ferguson's doubts about his fitness and ability to take care of himself have been well documented in the media - not just this season either

he''ll be one of those that plays around 20-30 games a season, bang a few stunners in, please the crowd every now and then... but a bit of a luxury player for any team that can afford him

I think a change of scenery would do Rooney good and perhaps re-motivate him, but he prices himself out of most clubs' budgets with his wage demands.

His goal record is still more than decent and he's shown himself to be quite versatile over the years. I reckon most major clubs would take him.

Hasn't really stopped him from playing well has it? Still managed 16 goals playing out of position. Had RVP been injured, I don't think there would have been any concerns about Rooney's fitness.

The guy is in poor shape for a footballer, I don't think anyone disagrees. That may play fine in his mid-20s, but will catch up with him.

And if he needs a change of scenery to motivate him, I don't think that's going to happen coming back to Everton.

I disagree.

Without a doubt, there are numerous reasons as to why Rooney is valued at a fee twice that of Baines.

36 appearances, 16 goals and god knows how many assists for the league champions doesn't sound too bad for a past it player with fitness concerns.

Not quite sure why the media were full of "RVP made the difference in United winning the title" when he failed to match Rooney's scoring record of the previous season. The difference was City being far poorer than the previous season.
