Would Relegation Be that Bad?

Now i'm setting myself up for a massive fall right now and a barage of abuse but.............................................would it be that bad?

Lets look at the state the club are in right now, we have an over inflated squad, with alot of over paid, over inflated ego's who are basicly just going through the motions, i could name them all, but this is going to be a long thread as it is.
How many of them will want to stick around if we go down? Would Schneiderlin? Nope, Mirallas? Nope Sigurdsson? Nah. Its an easy get out for them, we may have to sell them off at a discounted price but ill blame the board and steve walsh for bringing them in at the first place.
How many of you have been calling for championship loans for the likes of DCL, Baningime etc- we wouldnt need to, we could give them a year of the championship of great experience without having to send them out on loan. We could build a young side with the likes of DCL, Baningime, Davies, Kenny, Holgate, Lookman building slowly tearing it up in the league below for 12 months, preparing themselves and building confidence for an assault on the premier league, fresh, new eyes if you like, without any dreggs hanging around from previous managers, but most of all a winning mentality.
It would take all the so called glamour, glitz and all the bad stuff that the premier league has to go along with it and possibly make the club pure again.

Or on the other hand we could do a villa nad end up signing Scott Hogan and have Alan Hutton at right back.

All you everton business matters geeks will be on about brand and money etc, but im not bothered, i just want my old everton back
In theory maybe not...if we came right back up, in better shape than we went down
But this is Everton here

So for that reason, I'm out.

btw, which 'Old Everton' do you mean? My one requires a Ouija board hot line to Catterick and Moores...and a few others

What a ridiculous thing to suggest

Football is a business so to attempt to ignore that aspect in favour of believing 'The Old Everton' will return is bizarre

Half of the players would be off, make no mistake the loyalty disappears when it comes to playing in the Champiomship. Players would favour the PL spot at WBA than in the Championship. The effects on the players and fans after the event is so depressing

The amount of redundancies and people in and around the club affected by relegation is unreal - we would be set back far more years for our goal of 'top 4' contenders even more than we are now

A lot of fan schemes etc have been cancelled for Sunderland fans including things like transport discounts for match days.

I don't know what 'Old Everton' you think you would get from relegation

This nonsense about relegation not being a disaster is a joke. It's always been a joke. It's what fans of newly relegated clubs tell themselves to try and feel better. There is absolutely no upside side to relegation. Nothing. You'll hear all the usual BS about "more games for less money", "proper football", "a chance to start over and a clean slate". It's all crap!

Newcastle have been relegated twice in recent years and they're still the same rotten little club they always were and still haven't won any major trophy's. Newcastle are a success story compared to the likes of Leeds, Villa, Sheff Wed, Blackburn, Wolves, Coventry ect. The list goes on and on. Relegation would be THE darkest day in this clubs history and yes of course I'd still go and I'd still love the club but I'm not going to pretend everything is alright to make others feel better. There is zero positives about getting relegated. ZERO!
