There's been so many it's hard to start...

Goalkeepers; P.Gerrard,

Defenders; N.McDonald, P.Holmes, P.Kudrolp, A.Cleland, K.Tyler,

Midfield; J.Blomqvist, I.Wilson, A.Nyarko, C.Thomsen, G.Farrelly, I.Tal, M.Pembridge

Forwards; B.Angell, I.Marshall, Bakayoko, Madar,

Just a few names that make me wonder how people complain about the likes of Hibbert or Osman

Ordinarily, he'd make my list too but that goal v Coventry saved our bacon so it saves him too. Ive seen some rubbish over the years...people like Rod Belfitt, Bernie Wright and also players who didnt live up to their billing so disappointed like Joe Harper and Henry Newton. Todays squad is like Brazil compared with some from the past thank God.

I know he scored an important goal for us (which he mis hit!) but Gareth Farrelly was shocking!

Here's Farrelly's goal - . He was never good enough for Everton, but this goal alone keeps him out of our worst XI.

Our squad that season had some names in it to make you shudder, omigod. John Oster, Mitch Ward, Carl Tiler, Tony Thomas, Danny Williamson, Phil Jevons, John O'Kane. Madar and Cadamarteri were pretty gash, but at least they netted a few goals for us. Michael Branch on the other hand ... John Spencer must have been megagash because he couldn't even break into the team.

In 1997 we must have had the worst scouts in our history. That year alone we bought Tony Thomas from Tranmere, John Oster from Grimsby, Mitch Ward and Carl Tiler from Sheffield Utd, Michael Madar, and Slaven Bilic (3 red cards in 28 appearances). We actually paid West Ham £1m plus the excellent David Unsworth in return for Danny Williamson, who played 15 times for us without scoring, got injured, and never played again.

Blinking Heck we didn't half have some dross down the years.

The worst player to play for us was Brett Angell. But he was so bad that everyone remembers him.
The winner

also, Claus thomsen, david ginola, every right back under Kendall III...
