World Cup Semi Finals

Potential classics. Finally we're getting the big boys playing each other. This should hopefully mean an end to the slightly-boring first 80 minutes we've been getting in games since the kock-out stages, where the big boy would fight hard trying to break into the smaller rival's well-oiled back-line.

Germany are gonna müller Brazil. The key between Argie & Holland is whether the game will be won with attacks through the middle or from the flanks (Messi vs Robben).

After all the (premature) talk about how the Americas are dominating this competition we could well end up with two European nations in the final, just like 2010 & 2006. I'll be cheering on a Germany vs Argentina final. There's already been two ('86 & '90) and it stands at one-a-piece. Best of 3 has to be. Deutschland to prevail.

Whatever happens, let's hope we see some epic quality football!

Unlikely.

It all feels so packaged now. All the quirkiness and personality has been suffocated out of it.

agreed...I fondly remember the 2002 semi-finals with South Korea and Turkey offering a real (and quirky) challenge to Germany & Brazil.

Still...if we're lucky we'll get high-quality football and constant drama now. I'm optimistic.

Meh...after Colombia, USA, Algeria and Nigeria went out it was already stifled. Costa Rica going forward would have offered nothing, they'd be dead on their feet.
