I did used to get £50 a week. But they stopped that. I didnt pay enough National Insurance in the 17 years i had worked non-stop since leaving school. But hey, thats only fair, i mean im English, so that means im not entitled to anything in England.

It's tough, mate. I think you get UB for 6 months maximum, and then they whack you on JSA which is means tested against other income in the household. Good on you for getting the job, though. I bet you're dying to get in there to disrupt the delivery of the nation's mail!!
