Dell boy, I know mate but what I ment was if people want no interference this is what they COULD get. People change the goalposts all the time. They want our help but not our "interference" and the hypocisy really annoys me

No I agree mate. The small side issue that we probably pay millions each year in aid to a number of countries that have protests on the streets against us also rankles a bit!

Is a thread started to discuss the killing of a british soldier by two terrorists really the place for such a pathetic statement.

How very dare you.

These men murdered Lee Rigby as a protest against our forgien policy, and all evidence points to the core of the problem being our continued support of Israel.

Israel is a state which threatens its neighbors and then when it gets bitten on the arse, it's the first to cry - or call that country anti-semitic.

I'm sorry that it's being said, I hope the best for the Rigby family and I hope they can deal with this atrocity - but it happened because of this and we need to do something about it.

That post is beyond belief.

Those barbarians that murdered that innocent man did it because they were misguided psychopaths. Full stop.

To try and explain it away by our support for Israel is an insult to all concerned.

As stated before there is no quick and easy right and wrong with regards the Israel/Arab debate.

Mate, I get the impression you might just lack a grasp of any kind of middle eastern history.

One thing I can do is look right through history and the one thing I'll see is Jews being persecuted. The origins of any state will be murky at best through any era of time. To dismiss theirs as terrorist and blame all subsequent acts of terror on that is blinded in the extreme.

We've also offered and still offered support to many islamic states over the time our relationship with Israel grew.

Or is that to be ignored because you'd rather make the case for them kunts murdering our soldiers on our streets being our fault?

Easy.

Stop Israels illegal occupation of Palestine, that's a good way to start.

Better communcation between us and the Muslim world is pretty important too!

In international terms can you name a western country that's been more outspoken than Britain about that issue??

This is the book:

As independent as is possible.

Summary "it's one horrifically complicated mess"

Not so long ago Germany massacred 9 million people, doesn't necessarily mean that it's going to happen again does it?

This is the problem, history can teach us an awful lot in this crazy world - but it shouldn't be at the forefront of policy making.

I do NOT in anyway condole the needless violence which happened, there are other better ways to put your point across.

However, I do feel we need to have a look at ourselves a bit more - this stuff is just going to keep on happening if we don't do anything about it.

There's a lot more to it than an occupation issue in part of Palestine.

Communication comes as a two way process. The government does not spout any anti-Islamic language and any protests on the street would be jumped on very quickly.

Understanding the history of the Middle East is fundamental to moving forward.

Hence your comment about "illegal occupation of Palestine" is so flippant. It is way more complicated than that.

Not sure I understand your comment about Germany. No WW2 will not be repeated because a totalitarian regime is not likely to take root and the wider society in Germany is much more educated now.

That's the key here - genuine democracy and better mass education.

Two ingredients that a lot of the Muslim world is sorely missing.

Palestine, Iran?

We might disagree with it, but we'll still buy goods from them and back them in everything else.

You do know that Palestine and Iran are not western countries don't you?

And in any case both are just a little bit biased on this issue.

Palestine and Iran. They both western countries now?

I ask you to name a country from the non-muslim world who have offered more support or done more to intervene on behalf of Palestinians and you say Iran(massive sponsors of terror BTW) and Palenstine itself.

OK Mate.

How can they have democracy when we keep supporting dictatorships?
