My favorite player when I was a kid, those goals saved us when he came in on loan. Legend.

He was in a dark place (no pun itended) over in Turkey and we rescued him from the nightmare. He never forgot that, and he remained loyal to us. He's also one of those players who "got it" when he came to Everton, and realised how special the club can be.

A top, top bloke and a very good centre forward on his day. In my mind, he was perhaps under-rated and certainly should have got more of a look-in for England.
