Women's world cup

Granted that this is from the misandristic BBC and is probably exaggeration of the original claims, but bleeding hell, somebody needs to stand up to these feninazis and tell them it's not chauvinism, it's simple economics. The moment the women's game get the same crowds paying, is the moment they'll get the same pay.

Women's World Cup: Fifa 'entrenched in chauvinism' over prize money, says Hope Solo - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48535933

Ffs it's like demanding div 4 champions should get the same prizes as div 1.

I wish the been had a reply section to give a balance to their bubbles.

'feminazis' 'misandristic BBC' - yeah, you'd be the lad for balance...

Do you think those things don't exist? You hate everything I say on this matter, irrespective of what I am objecting to. I think you'll find no more balanced, invective and honest view of the world than mine. Sorry if I don't just go along with whatever a minority of media imbeciles define as 'woke' to appear trendy.

Do you think that calling men chauvenistic for not giving women footballers equal pay is acceptable? I mean, to do so, you must logically accept that simple economics is nothing to do with it, it must be nasty men and male repression of the entire other half of the world's population, nothing to do with the ladies' game only attracting a fraction of male support (and therefore cash). :coffee:

You are clearly not balanced - terms like feminazi and calling the BBC misandristic are from the lunatic Men's rights brigade and have no basis in, well, anything of substance.
I believe women's football is deserving of more funding, especially as it was actively worked against for so many years by FAs and international organisations. Everton do not attract the interest or revenue of Man United but we get a big cut of the TV revenue.
I don't necessarily agree with Hope Solo on the funding they should get, but she didn't call 'men' chauvinistic she said that male chauvinism was entrenched in FIFA, and I'm more inclined to believe a woman who has been actively involved in a sport than someone who calls her Feminazi for expressing her view.

It's such a silly debate, there isn't the market for womens footy to make paying them millions profitable. Once crowds and interest grows, im sure money will too. Doubt it will happen though. Women's football is dog turd. When they start changing tops at the end of the game we can discuss further.

Feminazi apologist :coffee:

Ok. So long as you stop reading or attempting to follow reasoning as soon as you see a word you disagree with, and then associate those words with a stereotype, and dismiss the rest, then you must be right.

I get ya.

She played the feminist card without recourse to economics. The BBC ran with it, without any attempt to balance the story with the economics because they love that kind of attack.

Simple.

There is definitely a case of wishing for equality without taking any economic realities into account.

The women's game deserves support to develop but until it has a product that can attract a large following with sizeable attendances, and not by giving free or massively discounted tickets, then commercially it won't attract the sponsors necessary to pay huge wages.

It's a catch 22 really, no huge crowds brings no huge revenue from advertisers or tv deals, it can be bought on the cheap as there are no rival bids, which in turn brings no huge wages.

(I'm not talking about one-off big crowds but run of the mill stuff)

How the game is marketed with tv rights sold to on the back of the men's game (for world cups) would have to change for a start. Their game now enjoys far more exposure without the commensurate crowds at normal league games, and consequently fixtures are hosted at small grounds which are comfortably large enough.

They should concentrate on getting the product right before contemplating equal pay, the real world will always dictate.

When the football gets better than Sunday League, perhaps there will be a better chance of gaining equal pay, until then, no chance

It's not a word I disagree with, it's a nonesense word that has no relation to this, and your view that the BBC promotes misandry has no basis.

I presume you'll see your argument through and maintain that lower league clubs should get no funding from outside
