Hardly a winter break. We get more disruption from pointless internationals.

Premier League chief Richard Scudamore welcomed the move, and said clubs would not be allowed to exploit the break by playing lucrative friendlies.

Absolutely stupid this. It’s barely a break and it’s not synced up with any other league that does this. And it does nothing to solve the league’s real problem, which is packing 4 or 5 matches into 2 weeks during the festive period and knackering most squads.

Yes, but wouldn't it make more sense to, you know, not have 10000000 matches over 10 days and still retain the 'classic' traditional vibe of it all?
Have normal rounds, easy peasy.
