Dunno why just apparently it got raided and has been shut ever since. Again, just a random in the pub said it but he seemed to know. Only explanation I can think of for a pub being boarded up without a for sale sign or a fire. If it was a raid you can only assume drugs or illegals.

Seem to recall it was deffo boarded up, not just shut like.

its a wonder the pub has been open as long as it has. it hasnt made hardly any money on a non match day in years. bar the odd function. in the last few years it didnt always open midweek only the home games kept it going.. its the same with most boozers round walton and with the winny being just off county rd its always going to suffer. it used to be boss with the old everton disco after home games in the early to mid 2000's but its been crap for years since then.

as for the raid being about drugs i wouldnt be surprised at all tbh.

Last time I was in there was the Southampton game, the place is/was an accident waiting to happen, there was a strong leak coming via a lightbulb in the ceiling.

I'm sure the fat bloke in the suit off Life of Grime would shut it down if he were to go in.

Its got great History but last time I went in which was at the start of the season it was really grim inside and looked like a death trap. I used to go upstairs because it was the official supporters club room or something

Yeah I do and it is crap - then again most of them are. Like the Black Horse on County Road tho.
