They are like crack cocaine to me.

They're nice in the tin foil and paper roll as a sneaky one that the Mrs need never know about, too.

They are, but the fruit shaped ones in the box are better I reckon. And they are in a box. Inside a little paper bag.

That's me to a tee!
Like you say, especially just after Christmas when the supermarkets start to clear their shelves, twin packs, one wine gums, the other licorice allsorts, not unknown for me to mix and match obscene amounts.
Ideal laxative as far as I'm concerned.
