Ok, we all know I am a bit crap at tech stuff, but read that 7 will start to die, and I HAVE to upgrade/download to 10. Like dad soon.

That is all I know.

Anyone?

Basically if you've got any documents, music, pics etc. on the computer that you don't want to lose then copy them to an external hardrive/memory stick first upgrading. You shouldn't lose anything doing the free Microsoft upgrade but it's a just-in-case.

Backing up files is good practice anyway.

How much stuff do you need to transfer? Either use Dropbox or Google drive or grab a usb stick and whack it on there.

Download your legit copy of Windows 10 and put it on a usb stick and install it from there.

If you don't want to pay the extortionate MS prices you can activate it with KMSpico. Just make sure you download it from MyDigitalLife.

What is this stuff Roy?

You could lob it on a portable hard drive but depends on size/contents

If small enough, can upload it to the net via Dropbox or similar and then download after
