After Scolari got sacked today, Martin O'Neill and David Moyes have been getting the highest praises lately, so when do you think a "Top" club will come knocking for Moyes?

I know he's at a top club now but will he ever get the backing to make us a title contending side, he's been here 6 years now and this in my opinion is the best side we've had since we last won the league, hes got a decent keeper, 3 champions league defenders, a left back who will go on to get over 50 england caps, arteta and pienaar are two of the most creative midfielders we've had since the 80s, fellaini who i'm sure will go on to great things at this club, Tim Cahill - words can't describe how vital he is and if fit, yakubu and vaughan could easy get 40 goals between them.

Now is the time for him to be backed more than the time we reached the champions league, this team is capable, i just feel with Chelsea sacking managers who don't get instant success and Sir Alex ready to retire in the next 2 years, its only a matter of time before a "top" club offers moyes a chance of proving himself at the highest level.

what dya think?

Manchester United yes . Moyes would agree and go and really if your honest with yourself could you blame him ? I know its hard but .......

Chelsea though ? :dodgy: No way mate not at the moment infact I doubt he would go there period

No alarm bells are ringing for me. Moyes will not be approached by Chelski, Ancelotti is the man they will go for leaving Manchester City in limbo come the summer.

With the current state of the 'top 4' teams, I'd say Man Utd would be the only guys in for Moyes. He isn't someone who will sit quietly under rich owners who want their say when it comes to management/transfers. Liverpool and Chelsea have proven over the last few years that their boardrooms are a mess and I don't think Moyes is the type of manager Arsenal would go for after what Wenger has built.

So yeah, out of the 'top 4' teams the most probable would be Man Utd. Wether it ever happens, who knows?

I like O"Neil he is a genuine character in a league of knobheads .

Anyone I've ever heard of that's met the man in person reckons he's a 100%, Grade-A, premium Asshole of a man.

The 'quiet little soft spoken librarian' bit he does for the media is complete misrepresentation.

imo the glazers will breathe a bit of a sigh of relief when saf has gone as he rules the roost (albeit very succesfully), his word is final. they will then get on with running their franchise in their own way, i think the last thing they will want is another stubborn scotsman coming in , and will opt for one of the managers that has moved around the top teams, jose will surely be at the top of their list.

moyes will get closer to achieving the impossible at Everton and will take great satisfaction that what he is doing is all down to hard work, he will get a lot from the fact that he has taken relatively unknown players and turned them into winners.

i remember a team once that this was said of, "a team that contains no real household names, players that if you ask a housewife about then they have never heard of them" that team went on to win the f.a.cup, the league, the cup winners cup, charity shields, close to a treble, close to a double. the housewives knew their names then, and not on the basis that they were always on the front pages. this is what moyes is being forced to do through a lack of funds, it's all good and well lashing huge amounts at players but if they prove to be lame ducks then that fee becomes a big loss, people say we shouldve spent on moutinho, nobody else is exactly jumping at his buyout clause, maybe zenit will march in with their arshavin dough and activate the clause, he wont want to go but sporting will say "sorry son it works both ways, your goin'. btw take your coat we hear its a bit nippy out there".

I don't like O'Neill, nor do i think he's some sort of genius.

He's very good playing the bull on the [Poor language removed].

I know from seeing him at close quaters at Celtic that he does absolutley no coaching, but he is an exceptional motivatior and a really infectious charicter the players warm to.

Make no mistake about it Steve Walford, does as much as O Neill, but their a great team.
