Why you hate NUFC?

Mainly because Liverpool and the Metropolitan Borough is more than twice the size of Newcastle and it's borough. 466,000 vs 189,000

Then you look at Liverpool and the surrounding Boroughs, Sefton, St Helens etc and those are even larger than the comparable Newcastle boroughs (Tyneside). 2m vs 0.8m

A fair point, but that only really influences the fan count point.

Chico's point about them all thinking Newcastle are big everywhere because everyone in Newcastle supports them (or words to that effect... I don't really pay too much attention to chico) is still relevant.

Not having a rival in the same space is bound to breed a different mentality to the likes of us, when we constantly see strangers, friends and family supporting the team we hate most. Everton's stature is challenged most in the city of Liverpool, whereas Newcastle's stature is exaggerated most in the city of Newcastle.

Let's just all join round a campfire and sing our mutual contempt for Liverpool* fans, Chelsea "fans" and Arsenal customers. (y)

*As an aside, just personally want to pass on my respect to the JFT96 lot and all the families affected, it's an awful truth that you all probably know someone personally affected by that tragedy. I don't doubt the rest of the Newcastle fans (who don't drink petrol from the can) would agree as well. It could well have been any of us.

Respect mate.

No disagreement from me there, it's one of the reasons why i like Sunderland fans more. I see Sunderland as being like us, quietly going about their business while the Kopites of the far north run around with their tops off talking about Alan Shearer and the good times when they nearly won the premier league.

Like I said mate, Sunderland have a better claim to being a big team (same amount of time in the top flight, but 2 more league titles) but you'd never know. They're (in my experience) humble and sound lids.

Being a lad, I've never been a fan of dress-up like. They need to pack that in, but it's because football's becoming a more middle class sport, like "rugger" or cricket, where the audience have to do something to liven up the soporific **** in front of them. I remember the away support being in either of the Leazes' corners and the stewards didn't tell you off for having a raised voice or, heaven forbid, standing up. Wouldn't catch anyone dressed like a ****ing smurf then, would you

Think the whole "small eyes" thing is new to me, I'd agree that all the doylums on "Geordie Shore" are weapons grade c*nts, but I also know they're not proper geordies, just like the "Meffs" on Desperate Scousewives aren't your everyday scouser either.

oh and bluejock, it's a bit piss poor if your "banter" is quoting Al Murray

It's a theory I have mate, here's some evidence.

It's them weird wee eyes. I don't think it's coincidence.

Could you please post a photo of your eyes please mate.

I was made up finding that you beast. Doesn't that disprove your theory?

Where have I went wrong ffs?

Mainly that list only includes Knowsley and St Helens in making up the population of Liverpool as a 'City' but it includes the entire Tyneside region around Newcastle. Not comparing like with like.

Teach me how to have two belly buttons and i'll send you some graph paper

I knew I'd live to regret that photo.

I'd say that it states the urban populations around the city which is the sound way to do it. Cross over the Mersey and it's Tranmere's catchment area. Go down the East Lancs and you've got Wigan. Get out St Helens and beyond Runcorn way and you've got United eating into stuff. We're fairly locked in towards our local support. Newcastle extend right up to the Scottish border and half way across the country, and even then Carlisle are sh*te and they draw plenty of support from that way.

I accept your apology by means of calling Goat a humungous ice road trucker thank you.
