JozMan

Player Valuation: £1m
This is a serious question and i have been asking my self this question, yes i know we have a massive debt and not the greatest stadium going around but we are a well supported team a decent reputation and are way cheaper than of the teams above us. I know im biased but Everton would be the Perfect team to buy, If you can clear out our Debts give Moyes 10 Million a window and you would instaly see us climbing up the table but unfortunately im not a billionare and cant buy us. Anyways, keen on every ones opions.

how much is actually needed to get to the next level though, it has gone from a top 4 to a top 6 now, mirrored by how much is spent. To even get in the europa positions looks like it will take vast amounts, or win a cup.

be just like us to get a mega rich owner just before the new rules come in next year, and we cant spend thier millions, you just know that what going to happen dont you

Everton would not be the 'perfect' buy at all.

Any prospective buyer would be looking at clearing huge debts as well as funding a £200m+ stadium move. Not exactly the most appealing start.

100 million to buy us (maybe)

70 million to clear debts (this maybe wrong)

60 million to give to Moyes (about feckin time)

300 million on a new stadium

So lets round it down to 500 million. It's a big investment considering wages usually swallow up any profit and most football clubs run at a loss.

, If you can clear out our Debts give Moyes 10 Million a window and you would instaly see us climbing up the table .

You'd need more than £10m a window to see us climb the table. As has already been said, the top 6 teams in the league are light years above the rest. We are barely in touching distance of Spurs as it is and they've only won one game since February !.

And thats the key problem, the size of the investment required to see the sort of return potential investors are looking for would be phenomenal, plus theres the funding of the stadium to be taken into consideration. We definitely need changes at board level though thats for sure. Just simple things like marketing the club better could make a big difference in terms of what we have to spend each window.

One word "Overpriced"

This, when Kenwright bought some more shares a few months back he paid an amount such that someone buying the club would have to pay £140,000,000 for the club. With a further £60m on paying of the depts and another £200m+ on a new stadium, not to mention investment in the player, any buyer would need to spen at least £400m to get us challenging.

I am really just paraphrasing what others have said but I think the commitment to build a new stadium, and invest such a large amount of money in an industry that is notorious for never making profit, in a time period where there has been a global recession has had its toll. A number of takeovers seem to have hindered progress at clubs rather than improved it.

I heard two rumours last week that are probably garbage but will share with you none-the-less.

1. The Arab group who bought City were in talks with Everton until Destination Kirkby got called in......hmmmm yeh!
2. The some billionaire American who has something to do with the Kelloggs Company was interested in investing in us but talks stalled as Kenwright wanted to remain on the board.......hmm

They are both probably rubbish. I'm sure there are interested parties but the deal has to be right for them and us. I'm not really anti-Kenwright, just pro Everton. Would love to see us get new investment and push forward but as Moyes said on match of the day 2 last week, 90% of managers in this country don't have money and still get on with the job. We are no different and will still try and push on with what we have got.

Because they have never heard of us and when they are politely informed, they baulk at the challenge

Well I heard Donovan was deffo signing for us last year or this January.

90% of the rumour train is garbage.

Who knows what's keeping this thing back. The board really will have egg on their faces if they failed to do a reasonably humble thing like this though.

Could be worse I suppose. Didn't Getafe in La Liga almost have a name change to "Getafe Team Dubai" after being purchased by someone/some group from Dubai? Be careful what you wish for....I guess.
