Why our form has taken such a dip?

Our form has dipped because that's what happens over the period of a season....however the state of the squad is down to 3 years of Martinez and some truly shocking signings.

A lot of people having a go at Koeman which is a joke considering he has been here 4 months and has to undo all the garbage put together by Martinez (It took 2 seasons for Martinez to destroy what Moyes put together) and will take just as long to fix.

Its quite obvious to me and its a combination of things. Firstly and most obviously its that we dont possess enough quality to be where the expectations are set for us to be.

I think privately the team wants to be top four, but unfortunately we dont have the creativity or determination to be a team who get to the top four. Personally I think we are really short of true creative midfielders, the likes or Arteta, Pienaar.. even Osman. We only have Barry who is more of a deep lying playmaker and really at his age he just cant perform every week.

Without this creativity a team like ours will only get in the top four through sheer determination and playing to the maximum every week, however these players arent capable of this and dont seem to have the correct mentality or professionalism or work rate to do this. I could easily see us beating Man Utd this week but then following that up with a loss at Watford. I think that because of the expectations of players and their realisation it wont happen we are subsequently seeing sloppiness and half hearted performances.

For the first time in my following Everton which has been 20 years I have pretty much scrapped this season in my head and accepted we will finish mid table. between 7th-12th. We wont do any better than that and it will be a difficult season to watch.

Depending on signings in January we may push for a bit higher but this is another problem for me. Koeman tried to sign Sissoko and he has signed Bolasie. I'm concerned about how he sees these players improving our team. Are either really upgrades on Deulofeu or Mirallas? I personally feel we should be signing players who are more consistent as consistency is required for top four.
I reckon it might have something to do with the fact that our players are , utter shi.e !!!

Results have took a dip.

To be honest, not convinced our performances have - we were a tad fortunate to pickup the points we did.
We got the results early on without playing particularly well.
I hoped the performances would catch up to the results but, unfortunately, it's been the other way around.

Because the players don't care

Simple.

While Koeman has made mistakes (and must work to rectify those) this squad lack any bottle to compete as soon as the odds go against them.

One bad result and it collapses around them.

Just as it has done the past two years.

It's a disgrace, and shows the fragility of the players that have been here far too long.

Too much deadwood. Too much of the same.

Koeman has to change it in the meantime, as it now has to be clear to him that he won't get a reaction from this spineless bunch.

The difference early on is we were playing how Koeman wanted at least in terms of defending from the front.

The solid basis for improvement was there.

One bad result and it reverts to type (how it was under the previous manager).

That doesn't all lay at Koeman's feet - in fact I'd say it is almost all on the crap bunch of players he inherited.

That being said, he does need to see the clear signs and change things.

We brought in a load of [Poor language removed] in the summer.
Most of the good players are past it.
Bad management for the last several seasons.
Bad purchases going back several seasons.
Martinez first season of Wigan buys - when our sqaud was at its peak killed us. ( 1st year finish was deceptive.)

No incentive to do better. Fear hasn't played a part, no ruthlessness throughout the club and no desire to win.
No real attachment to the club, no passion (last time I saw that was Funes Mori getting sent off at the pit) and no respect for the supporters, for which we may have played a small but understandable part.
The atmosphere around us reeks of deja vu, false dawns and absolutely nothing to get excited about. We have no iconic figure to fire us up and apathy rules once again.
Meeting friends for a catch up seems to be the reason for most to keep going, that and season ticket sales on the back of hopeful expectation raised by soundbites from the club.
Being an Evertonian doesn't install football pride, identity of what we represent of the club still resonates, but gullible chumps is our football persona these days bordering on delusion.
We can't do much more as supporters so it is up to the club to show a direction and change the mood, properley. Evdn Koeman even gives the impression he's been sold a pup.
