Why it's crucial to finish top 4 this year...

Have to be realistic people. Top 4 is only a dream at the minute. Europa league spot is achievable with the current squad, however if we are in a challenging position come january and moyes was allowed strenghten again, who knows.

We ARE top 4 now. That's a fact.
Where we finish at the end of the season is in our own hands. This team is playing the best football it has done since our glory days. If we can continue as we've started, then we'll be very close. In my opinion it will come down to how we play in the games against our likely rivals for the 3rd-4th spots - Arsenal, Spurs and maybe Newcastle, as well as getting something from the Derbies. These are the 8 matches that will really define our season - we need to take 13-14 points from these, minimum.

A lot of factors need to go in our favour to get into the top 4, and even then a side like Villareal could be waiting for us. Doesn't mean it can't happen though.

Every year I hope for the best then get let down. I prefer that to expecting the worst and being ambivalent about coming 7th.

Wouldn't be bothered with a Villa Real more so a Pierluigi Collina.

I just think it is amazing that we can all discuss these dizzying scenarios given where we were this time last year and on the budget that Moyes works with.

We wont finish top 4.

We might win a cup tho.

This.

I would love some form of silverware and a European spot. This season is the first time in a long time we have actually built on the season before. If we can keep doing this and carry on building then in a few years we could get places.

we will only finish the in the top 4 if we learn to kill teams off and we cant be drawing at home to the likes of stoke and wigan anymore. we also need to pick up more points away from home against the big teams and obviously a win in the derby wont do us any harm either

JDawg has spoken, but so has DaveK.

The reality probably sits in the middle ( 5th or 6th ). If we're in the top 4 come January then let's discuss it again. If we're in the top 4 in April then I'll start to get excited, till then, I'll enjoy every game where we're boss, and will happily sing "We're gonna win the League", but might not fully believe it.

Fellaini won't stay even if we qualify for the Champions League.

And we won't qualify for it anyway because the board and the manager and the players won't want the extra expectation.

Even if we're 2nd at Christmas we'll still fall down the the Europa league spots by the end of the season and the usual excuses of money will be used.
