I didn't get into the EPL until a couple of years ago and I didn't want to just choose a team so I tried to watch a couple of games at a friends house but didn't like anyone till I saw Everton play a friendly with a MLS team, Columbus Crew I think. Really loved how they played and the quality of the team and fans.

i'm in a similar boat i only got into it a few years back. I like australia so i have to say cahill was a part of the reason I started supporting everton, but after you watch a couple games it just sucks you in, i also follow american football a little bit, but i don't think any other team could make me feel the kind of emotion that everton does, and i know that's true when i see my friends who support the so called "big clubs" and i can tell it doesn't mean nearly as much to them.

No clue. When I got into English football a few years ago Everton was the only club that I found myself cheering for so I don't know!

It was a round a year ago and I was flipping through chanels and an Everton game was on. I remember I loved the style of play Everton played and of course Arteta tripping up defenders with his dribbling skills.

I always get asked in Fifa 08 why I like Everton even though Im from New York. I think like everyone says Everton fans are chosen!

I remember that one well Jondi as they showed that on national tv here in the States. ESPN carried the match.

My Great Grandfather played for Everton and actually scored in the 1897 FA Cup Final against Aston Villa (although we lost).

All males in the family have from that point on, been fanatical blues, particularly my grandfather who never missed a home game for more than 35 years.

Sadly I can't match his record but have the same passion (y)

Have any of their stories been passed down to yourself?

My great Uncle scored in the 1933 final, his name is Jimmy Dunn.
I have never met him nor was he an influence on why im a blue, i can't remember being anything other which gets me pelters in Scotland for supporting an English club.

I used to play rugby and our game was called off some mates asked me if I fancied going to Goodison with them so I said yes saw the Blues beat Coventry 3-1 think it was about 1967, stood in the street end and I was Hooked.

Thanks for asking - funnily enough there are many such stories, not only relating to Everton but other clubs and sports events based in the North West of England such as the Grand National, and county and test match cricket atLiverpool and Old Trafford.

We are currently in discussion with several publishers.

I'm sure I have some photo's of your Great Uncle with Dixie Dean and others. I'll try and look them up and provide you with a copy if you wish.

Esk, post them on here mate, let us all see shots of heroes from days gone by

All of my family are either Evertonians or dont follow football.
It is so deeply rooted in my family, that although throughout my younger days I was steering towards a lack of interest in any football, I was saved. Everton saved me.
I couldn't imagine life without it now. Weekdays revolved around the cycle of deflation/elation post-match in the early week, to in-depth discussion midweek, and then onto deep buildup and anticipation at the end of the week, the bovrils and sausage rolls before the game, the analysis after the game...and those glorious 90 minutes in-between when you realise that there is nothing better than this.
brilliant.

My Grandad was born in L4 and was an Evertonian, as was his father before him, my dad bought us up as Toffees and me and my brothers are the 4th generation of Evertonians in our family.
The redshite knocked down the house my Grandad was born in a few years back to build the new Kemlyn Road stand. C*nts! Or that's what my dad told us anyway!
