Why do you think Anichebe is still being relied on ?

Im happy to keep him if he plays like he did today and the last half of the Man City match.

Really!?!?!?!? I will admit his work-rate is up but he's playing as a striker and he almost never scores goals (or provides assists) -- 2 in 43 for crying out loud it's pathetic. I am reasonably sure Velios can run around and work hard (although he might accidentally score now and again).

Obviously Becks has pissed Moyes off (which is a shame because he has a decent strike-rate for minutes played) but Vic is just not good enough.

It worked when Bent did it because all of our players were like Bent -- hard working and grinding out a result. Now we have more quality in the side we need a clinical finisher not a striker who never scores but works hard. Plus, Anichebe has worked hard for like one and a half games! He hasn't even proven himself at that role yet let alone actually, you know, scoring a damn goal.

Get Vic Off! (not like that though ... he doesn't deserve it)

Q - Why?
A - Yakubu is at Leicester and wasn't interested in anything other than food.
Saha cannot and will not play 20 consecutive games.
Vaughan same again.
Beckford is acclimatising to the prem standard of defending and defenders kicking him, he does a lot of work on his backside and throws a lot of strops. Time to get tough.
With Victor he at least throws some of his weight around and although I can't see him bossing any decent CB having him matched against the full back seems to work as they don't seem to be up for a ruck with a bigger guy.
To clarify, he is relied upon because he is the only change we have on the books.

putting him in the shop window maybe? would explain the new contract too, unless moyes really sees something in training we dont!

I don't know. At the very least, he should be playing wing with Beckford playing striker. He's one of those strikers who don't score goals...

- 2 goals in 43 Premier league appearances.
- 14 Games played this season, 12 shots (a pitiful 4 on goal), 0 assists
- 1 goal since 2009

So you tell me, regardless of how nice of a guy he is, how many screamers he scores in training and how much he wants it, why on earth is he still such a focus ?

Because he's not going to be worth anything playing badly. If we don't play him, we aren't going to sell him and we're still paying his wages. At least try and get some form out of him.

Hes either a chronic asthmatic or very unfit, no disrespect meant, but after 15 -20 mins hes out of steam, hes a young lad and hes got no go in him, i can't understand it, he should be at the top of his game right now, but its just the opposite ?

I think Anichebe has shown in the past glimpses that he may actually have some potential, the Man city game backs this up, his performance against West brom was decent as well, he's still getting his fitness levels up after an injury plagued season, imo if he tries every week there's potential, if not useless sack of wine.
