Yes and that's a big difference. Koeman also managed to win 3-0 against Sunderland. Chelsea are quite a different story though. I'm not looking to protect Koeman, but the fact is that this is not his squad yet. We had a god awful and frustrating summer in the transfermarket imo. Too many of the old guard aren't up to it anymore. Koeman needs at least two more windows before I really start to judge him. If he still hasn't turned it around by then, fair enough. It's not a secret I'm a Koeman fan. Love Everton a lot more though.

@Zatara

Amazed at the comments on here, normal witch hunt against the manager from the normal brain dead, Chelsea played very well, played us off the park, as they would have most other teams today, give them credit FFS.

But no we have the normal everything the manager does is wrong knobs on here slagging him and the team off, reality check, we have dropped three points at The Bridge to an excellent Chelsea side, pull your heads in......

I'm not going to call the summer window a failure, I believe we strengthened the fist team in 4 positions, it's not easy to attract 'top' players to a club outside of London that has had back to back bottom half finishes. Time should be granted.

Mate you need to have a good watch of Williams there is a reason he was at Swansea so long, and you can say it all night but no way is Williams an improvement on stones,we are an average side with average players,if you start in goal we have a keeper deemed not good enough for Fulham and Southampton to name two,but good enough for us Coleman has been poor for 18months oviedo is a joke etc etc.

Williams is what we need now.

I know exactly why Koeman went for him. Look at Stones, he's usually the one at fault for all the goals, not saying he won't be sheer brilliance in a couple of seasons time, but right now, we needed to tighten up the defence, and tonight aside, we've done that. This is the first time this season we've conceded more than once in a game in the league if i'm not mistaken, so the defence IS getting there, just wondering when the midfield will catch up?

When we lost to the RS i also wanted Martinez sacked.

Today was at least as bad.

The last time we were this bad was when Smith was sacked after losing to Boro....even Moyes 7-0 against arsenal wasnt this bad.

Robles kept a clean sheet and after the gsme koeman says stek is back next match....favouritism.

Holgate does well against stokes best player and is motm...dropped for coleman.

davies looking hungry and effective...dropped for cleverley

Koeman is nothing if not predictable...should have attacked Chelsea today in their back yard...shown them we arent afraid. instead the players are told to defend and play long ball to bolasie and lukaku (which i predicted in the match thread).

If he cant motivate the team and cant play players on merit he could be Koeman, Mourinho or Guardiola...id want him sacked.

ive tried to give him a chance and will continue to do so (no option) but if he cant pick players on merit or motivate anyone he shouldnt be our manager.

Fabulous response. Could it be that Koeman is Dutch so youre backing him and blaming a former manager? Shall we blame Moyes for the result as well?

Its Koemans job...its koemans tactics and lack of motivation.

He was in the press this week saying how great he has done....well he didnt do well today.
Nothing to do with him being Dutch. Quite the opposite really. I'm normally not really an advocate for Dutch players/managers at Everton. Do like Koeman though, but not because he's Dutch. Still think he's the right manager for us and I give him a lot more time before changing that opinion. Just like I was prepared to give Martinez plenty of time.

I agree with a lot of what you said.

BUT

1 shot and 0 on goal is just unacceptable...I don't care who we are playing.

I'm not even saying Koeman out or anything, but we've got to do better than that going forward. Chelsea got the result that City deserved against us.

Have a look at he the last few pages in this thread to see what many on here were saying about Williams
https://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/threads/ashley-williams.90261/page-250

He's been very good. Anyway, he's the least of the problems. Can anyone tell me what Ronald's teams 'identity' is. When he had our start to the season for decades and Sky had him on MNF, he said he likes his teams to press. Have we seen that?

At least Martinez tried to play a system...tried to get us to play his way...

Whats Koemans system /style of play?
