Nothing dramatically new, it was more the impact of reading it all at the same time.
  • Sources likening the situation at the club to Game of Thrones with numerous factions vying for power
  • Staff throughout the club hacked off because Benitez was constantly at them, thinks he's the world's expert at everything
  • Froze out the existing recruitment staff to the point where they quit
  • Players baffled at the decision to sell Digne then sack Benitez the following week
  • He's ripped apart the structure of the club - "The club is now shaped in Benitez's image, without Benitez"
  • Martinez the favourite, Rooney, Favre and Ferguson also on the list

hard to even know where to start with this

Now is the time to give it Dunc or sack him, he cannot keep making it through failed regimes unscathed and burdening the next, if he is not up to the big job now he never will be. Let's see what he can do once and for all so we dont have this lingering issue every time a manager is appointed and he is shoehorned in.

thats why on the one hand Benitez was allowed to start to rip apart the fabric of the club with a view to implementing a new vision (one faction - presumably Moshiri), while another faction (presumably BK) was able to assert his authority and remove him.

In the coming days, there will emerge a candidate who everyone wants, a sexy continental type who will woo us all with his piercing stair, immaculately fitted shirts and tight, revealing suit pants but ultimately we don’t get due to his agent wanting shares in Bramley Moore and there will be much wailing an knashing of teeth and if only…

Then a total pants shyter will be favourite, a proper Martin O’Neil type moment and everyone will be convinced is coming because yenno, Everton, heads falling off everywhere

We’ll then appoint some middle of the road option number 3, there will be great relief and recalibration of expectations

Moshiri needs to get his chequebook out and pay the superstar manager of tomorrow instead of wasting it on Iwobi/Keane/Rondon/El Ghazi types...spend money on the best manager we can get:

Agree completely Zat, but unfortunately Moshiri is so utterly naive hes only aware of washed up big names and over hyped managers in the premier league. Absolutely devoid of football knowledge. Then you have kenwright trapped in the past romantically pining for a previous failed manager. It's just shambolic.
