I think instead of going with the most experienced players (they should be acting as talkers and motivators on the pitch with an armband or not). I would prefer to give it to one of our more talented kids as a way of saying " we are building for the future and you kid's are a massive part of it"
Ratcliffe got the armband at a very young age after Higgins got injured and never looked back.
Rio captained Leeds and Stevie across the park thrived on the responsibility (they all had experienced players around them also).
My preference would probably be Stones or McCarthy but Bobby will prob go for Barry or T How if Ossie isn't starting

Jags i think should be club captain in the summer to take care of all non playing captain duties....

Looking at the younger players, Stones,McCarthy,Besic,Barkley and Lukaku all offer different qualities to the role.

Captains or not they would definitely be big personalities in the dressing room.

For me, McCarthy would be Vice Captain and then its a toss up between Stones and Lukaku. Stones being more calm and Lukaku a real winner mentality...i think Stones would be better being in defence rather than lukaku would be a bit isolated....

Barkley and Besic(soon) could be captain material...

We have a lot of players with leadership skills but none really stand out like a Vieira or Keane.

For me too, much better choice than Howard/Baines/Osman especially as the latter two haven't played much.

He seemed to relish the responsibility and he's always been one of our first players to go up to the ref and argue our case anyhow - like the infamous Kev tackle on Suarez for instance.

Im of the opposite view, Barry as an experienced player would naturally go to the ref anyway and i think he and jags should act as club captain / vice captain with team captain going to perhaps Stones/Lukaku.

We did something similar with dave watson...
