No offence but how ourselves, you lot and Burnley finished top 10 last season proves how you don’t have to be anything special to do alright in this league

Tell me about it. That first half of the season from us last year was as bad as I've ever, ever seen. We didn't play well in a game until the end of November, how we picked up points I'll never know.

You’re completely right. It’s hard to get excited about a player as you know if they perform well one of the big 6 will come sniffing. Mahrez and Drinkwater are prime examples. Drinkwater has been nothing more than a bench warmer and I feel Mahrez will be the same at City. It’s like they sign them to weaken teams like ourselves rather than strengthen their own
Yourselves for example, when you won the league everybody says thats the chance to push on,establish the team as a top 4 club, but the truth is your looking at spending say 150/200m in transfers to just stand still add in wage demands from players wanting CL money and theres a hell of a wedge to spend in the hope that 3 or 4 other teams dont improve and push you off the gravy train

Also the midlands isn’t a desirable place to live for footballers really so when people say we’ve got £60m to replace Mahrez it isn’t that simple. We have the funds to buy that calibre of player but not the appeal

To get a player of the same calibre you would be looking at more than you got for him plus a hefty wage,it really needed a long run in the top 4 to have a hope of signing the same players linked with the top clubs,or to double /triple the money you pay them and as I said earlier you then have to hope you can stsy at the top table, look at the horse punchers fans screaming for money to be spent, spend 100m and they might move up one place, simple economics say it doesnt make sense

I think City will have pulled away again come spring.

They are the only team that I'd say are as dominant as Real Madrid and Barcelona, which will keep them out of reach for what are two very good sides in Liverpool and Tottenham.

I'm expecting Chelsea to just have the edge over United and Arsenal in the race for fourth, but that's assuming Sarri will be left to get on with his job during periods where their suspect defence will be exposed.

Spurs have put faith in the same players. They have been the second best team over the last three seasons or so.. and would be more palatable to, well, almost any other real contender. (I am discounting Arsenal as serious contenders right now). City are very good but may suffer from the "everyone wants to get one over the Champions" problem. United aren't at the races. Which leaves Chelsea (I hope not) and Liverpool (god help us..). So hopefully Spurs/City/Chelsea/Arsenal or United it is - if we can't do it!!!

I don’t think we’ll see the same dominance from City again. It’s bad for the brand and bad for tv. The premier league will want as close as they can get to a 6 way competition right to the end. Ironically it’s the teams they view as cannon fodder which provide all the entertainment in this league in the relegation scrap. Apart from the Aguero moment and slippy G falling over there’s barely been an exciting title race in recent times.

City...easily. Spurs, RS and Chelsea to contest 2,3 and 4. Arsenal 5 and Us, Leicester , Watford and Utd to contest 6,7,8 and 9

Besides City do any have strength in depth? The rs pin their hopes on the front 3 staying fit,Spurs at least managed without Kane for a short while, any team losing a main player will struggle
The problem with the RS this season is they addressed the gaping holes at Keeper and on the back line.

That lot don't need to score 3 any more to ensure victory. With City's injuries and potential eyes on the CL prize, I just hope everything doesn't break for them to get the title.

Spurs though. I can really see them making a push this season. They have a cohesive strategy and a manager that gets the most out of his players. I'm pulling for them for the title (after Everton of course)

It will be City. Liverpool will thrash them when they play each other though, and that will count as winning the title to them.
