I don't like the fact that people are writing Liverpool off so easily.

They are the form team of the top 6 and don't look like letting up.

I am genuinely frightened that they will come close... And I hate myself for it.

Its a defence mechanism to make them feel better, same as the "we're really better than them but they get loads of luck" nonsense. If they were City right now in the form they are in with the results this week, we'd all be tipping them for the title. Because of who they are, we just don't WANT to believe its possible (and in my opinion a lot more probable than the odds available)

It comes from fear!

No team can go from 7th/8th to winning the title in a season.

Relax.

this is an unusual season though, with traditional superpowers weakened for various reasons. If it would ever happen, this would be the year for it.

I can't see it happening though. The RS didn't do much business in the window either and I think they'll start suffering fitness wise towards the end of the season.

Take Suarez out of that team and watch the confidence ebb away all over the pitch. I will say one thing about Suarez, he has taken some have tackles this season and he just gets up and goes again. The lad must be made of rubber and bamboo how he has not done his hammy this season is frankly mindblowing.

Not wrong mate.

Obviously despise Suarez but he seems to be less of an idiot this season. Just seems to be getting on with it. Which has actually annoyed me more than when he was being an idiot.

I long for the day when he bites people!

The RS have fourth at worst, lads. Infact, I think they will finish third and Arsenal and Spurs fight it out for fourth.

That was a massive, massive win for them last night.

I, like others, am fretting over the RS cutting back the gap with the top 3. But it just goes to show how fine the line is between despondency and delight. I mean, WTF was that Fulham lad doing last night? 2 minutes left, which if they'd passed without such a crazily bad decision by one player would have left the RS still 6 off the top and me much more relaxed.

There's a lot of football still to be played, and the savings grace, to my mind at least, is that City and Chelsea would both have to lose 2 more games than the RS to give them a chance. Not impossible, particularly if the RS beat them both in the coming weeks, but still a very tall order -- particularly if the Devil reneges on his contract with them.

Yep. If you look at the fixtures list run as well, they could easily win six of their next seven. We're relying on them losing the head-to-heads against Chelsea, City and Spurs.

If it helps:
The last 6 games - combined home and away have them equal to Chelsea.
But the last 6 home + the last 6 away games (i.e 12 games)... Chelsea have one more point than Liverpool and City have 3 more. Not exactly capitulation from the other two.
For me, news of the top teams demise is somewhat exagerated.

If the pattern continues as it is... City and Chelsea will move further away rather than be reeled in.

The red ****e look most likely to break in the champions league but they haven't had a bad patch like us so unless they start to get one I think they will play champions league next season . Arsenal are bit like us in the sense that normally they play out there skin for the last half off the season but are rubbish at the start of the season . It's different this season though as it's the other way round and they are running out of steam

I think the red****e will get 3rd and 4th is between us spurs and arsenal . Spurs have being very lucky with adebayor but he can't keep his form up for 12 more games. We have a chance but the bottom line is our strikers need to hit form quick because we haven't had many goals from them since December. I feel if we can get traoure and lukaku firing then we can win most games as we have being lacking goals

In the next eight weeks, Arsenal have Stoke away (nightmare fixture for them), Spurs away, Chelsea away, us away, Man City...toothless upfront, midgets in midfield and always lose a physical battle, and slow in defence. They are without doubt the most vulnerable of the top 4 (and the bookies see it this way). Spurs are flaky and rely on Adebayor's purple patch. It's unlikely, but if we can put a string of wins together then we can capitalise on Arsenals fall..which they've already begun.
