A repeat of the same thread and poll we had last season.

I think most of us can agree that the top 3 are sorted. But the race for 4th is on! So who do you think will bag it? If you were a dead-eyed betting man, who would your money be on?

Spurs: they've got a new manager but not that much has changed from Harry's team: they still play riproaring instinctive football, prone to inconsistency. They've had a taste of Champions League, and so has their manager - their will to make it should be immense. In Bale they have that one potentially world-class player who could make it happen. But in Modric they lost one. I wouldn't put my money on them.

Arsenal: everytime we think they're finished, along comes a 7-3 hammering to remind us that Arsenal are still a force. They've had a lot of Champion League experience and will be burning to make it again. In terms of who's got the best overall squad out of the challengers, Arsenal might just have props on this. For that reason, my cold-hearted dead-eyed money would be on the Arse.

Everton: it sounds like a cliche, but on our day we know we can beat anyone. The three things we lack are a killer instinct in front of goal, an iron focus in defence and more quality outside of our first 11. But that first 11 we do have is arguably the strongest team out of the challengers (on our day). We're (in)famous for our brilliant second-halfs to the season, so let's hope we can repeat the trend, because if we do we will certainly finish 4th. A clever January signing (loan or otherwise) will be wise...

Liverpool: i hate to say it, but they do have an outside chance. That chance has a name: Suarez. Liverpool continue their longstanding tradition of signing utter cocks for their team, but this time the cock is genuinely world-class. He's that good he could push a revival and late spurt to 4th place. On top of that (and as much as we'd hate to admit it), they do have their European pedigree, and this can help the will of the players kick on. It's a huge ask, tho...for me Liverpool remain the outsiders of the challengers. A one-man team can only take you so far (unless you're Maradona, and that Suarez is definitely not).

Not much has changed. It's almost the same candidates and the same stories, except we're swapping Man U for Arsenal.

Liverpool still have Suarez, who has got even better. Sturridge has also moved up a class, and the rest of their team isn't as useless as we'd like to think they are. They might be the bookies' favourites to bag 4th.

Spurs are once again with a new manager, and they are minus Bale this time. Under Sherwood results have improved, and as we've wilted they've managed to jump above us in the table.

Everton: we were nailed-on for that 4th spot until the most horrendous of injury runs these last 6 weeks or so. It's almost like every game results in a key player getting an injury, we even had to play with half-crocked players last night. With only 2 days of the transfer window to go, it looks like our major additions will come in the summer. I think we've missed the boat this season, the injuries have simply been too debilitating (and demoralising).

Man Utd have spunked 65 million pounds on Fellaini and Juan Mata. The former's barely made an impression, and the latter was relatively anonymous in his debut vs Cardiff. They'll pick up plenty of points in the run-in, but not sure they'll do enough to bag 4th.

Chelsea/Arsenal: I don't see these 2 giving up their spots, they're too consistent and frankly better than everyone else. But I'll include them in case you disagree. Man City are gonna waltz the title.

Even as a dead-eyed betting man I just can't face backing the RS, so will abstain. But as objective as I can possibly be, the signs are all there that they'll fluke it.

I know it is an unpopular choice but I think the race to 4th between Man Utd and Liverpool will see the latter prevail...too much striking power to slip up against the mid-lower ranked teams and they play all the other top clubs (except Man U) at Anfield. Man U with Rooney and RVP back have equal striking power but they are 6 points in arrears. Spurs, us and Newcastle will battle out 6,7 and 8th.

As much as it pains me to say it, Liverpool. The United result against Stoke sealed it.

I think we'll finish above Spurs into 6th.

We were never nailed on 4th! Six weeks ago I believe Liverpool were top of the league in fact and we were never finishing above City, Arsenal and Chelsea!

Anyway I think it's most likely Liverpool but we'll give them a damn good run for their money and could pinch it if they have a few more Toure-esque slip ups :)
