I remember Jim White saying that he had received official comfirmation from Everton that a bid had been accepted for Jack Butland. Only for the Birmingham manager to ring up Sky and tell them it was BS lol

Shearer was quality transfer effort, offering less after Newcastle had agreed on a fee, plus that window Sky where waiting outside goodison for Riquelme to show up :D

Brazilian Muller deserves a mention
Shearer was an odd one yeah.

Muller only said no because we refused to pay his tax bill I think. Bid was deputed and he was here and everything.

David Moyes 'I can see Alan Smith and Wayne Rooney lining up alongside each other next season.' Unfortunately David you knew all along he was going to utd along with Rooney. Muller was a good one, flying him over and then telling him he had to pay his own tax, quicker than you could say 'Where is the Arteta money Bill?'
Not so much a phantom bid but the entire Manny Fernandez debacle while he was actually at the game watching us and 24 hours later he had signed for Valencia.
Hopefully Moshiri has got some more trips planned for our former transfer delegation, preferably to the bottom of a river somewhere.
