I remember it well.
T'was actually a bloody awful match, to be honest. Very scrappy and cagey affair, as we kept doing everything to close them down in the middle of the park.
However, of course the performance didn't matter that day. We'd won the FA Cup, and I was over the moon about it!

Royle was undoubtedly the manager of the year; he had taken a team of journeymen and forged them into a unit that worked as hard for each other as any team on the planet ever had. I remember actually when Joe bought Duncan on, our play got significantly worse, but someone we held on, but Nev was having one of those days.

The semi-final, as others have said, was the performance of the year.

I remember queuing all the way round the bullens road to get my ticket, buying two copies of the single, no idea why. Getting up at 5am for the coach, which broke down so they sent another, a double decker coach this time. Applying face paints on the coach, wearing a blue nose and wig, i remember how many blues we saw on the motorway and thinking wow, everyone is a blue, (bit too naive then to realise they had probably sent Everton fans one way and Utd fans another). I can't really remember much about the match, i was sat half way up behind the goal. On the way home we stopped off in bushey i think at a non league football club, another coach had broken down and needed a lift, there was room on our coach so we picked them up, and also a load of cider to celebrate. Some manc had also recorded the match and gave us a copy, and the only other thing i remember is barging past everyone on the coach to be sick in the toilet! what a day! what a hangover!
'we went down,
did we f***,
we stayed up and won the cup,
with a knick knack paddy whack,
give the dog a bone,
man united f*** off home!'

An' me lad .
The mad rush when they opened the doors at 5.45 a.m. , cause their collective arses had well gone , when seeing literaly thousands queuing where the Club Shop is now located , when the entrance was the Bullens Rd / Park End .
Stampede doesn't quite say it . I was sound , I lived local and was about 80 yards from the gate from dinner hour Sat , but some poor fukas , ...
Yeah , mad though boss , F.A. Cup year - Another one .
It's my favourite competition . Oh , and we get ,
" We Shall Not Be Moved , ... " Also my fav' .

I was in Canada on holiday for the final - we had a first scorer sweep which I got Rideout :D

The main thing I remember from the top of my head beisdes the goal, was the glorious chance Amo wasted when Uniteds defence was nowhere to be seen. Good job we didnt rue that miss.

I also made my first trip to wembley for the Charity sheild - vividly rembember thinking I was going to die, as I was sat on my dads shoulders when Samways whipped his shot in .

I also remember it being the year of the hosepipe ban here in the north west?? And the late Michael Jackson had the xmas number 1 with Earth Song.(y)
