Player Valuation: £8m
I play for a local team and one of our lads were sent off today.

Here's the story: our lad slid in, realised he was never getting there so he dug his foot into the ground. He gets too much grip and flips arse first into their player. He apologises straight away and as he's getting up, their player knees him in the face. He gets up and they square up, forehead to forehead. The referee sends them both off.

My question is, was that the correct decision?

We lost 3-1 in the end which is a bit poo.

Definitely not a good decision He could have done his knee in badly. Next time he should go straight through their player.

Hope this helps

We presume the reff sees first what he thinks is a 'straight red' tackle, then the other guy is red carded for retaliation.

file under $h1t happens' cop a ban and fine, move on... depending where and who you are playing next give your guy a 'name' to play under... but you didn't hear that from me

As a ref myself, the tackle should be a yellow for unsporting behavior (reckless play). The opposition player should be shown a red for violent behavior. If I had been in that situation, I'd wait to card your player until after sending off the other guy for a knee to the face. As I'm giving your guy a yellow, I'd warn him that he's on thin ice due to his reaction to the knee. The opposition player was going to get sent off anyway, so no need to go forehead to forehead.

Game abandoned when we're 2-1 up this morning because they threatened the ref all game before one told him he was going to knock him out. Before half time this, we best get the points.

I ****ing hate dickheads who can't take an apology. I'm about to go watch a bunch of whiny 16 year old Luton kids cry at the ref and square up to each other after every foul. Last week was shocking. I was a petulant little ****er that age and I bitches and moaned. But if someone fouled me and apologised I'd never kick off. It's football.

The worst is when someone fouls you and doesn't apologise so you have a bit of a moan and they square up to you. 'How dare you question me blud?!' **** off. It's the attitude I've known all throughout growing up playing football and its only getting worse.

Says people are whiney, expects an apology every time he's fouled. Oh NIK.
