I've been listening to Sleater-Kinney a lot of late and what's really been standing out since this thread is her drumming. Even when matched up against Corin's ridiculously powerful vocals and Carrie's guitar mastery. I'm struggling to think of a more effective drummer. And that may sound like an odd compliment, or even a veiled insult, but it's not. What I mean is she's not flashy, but she knows when to take it up a notch and when to just help keep the song ticking along. In addition, her drum fills are some of the most perfect I've ever heard. Easily my favourite female drummer of all time, and probably my third favourite drummer overall.

I'm spending the next hour or so listening to Quasi now. It will be a fine hour.

Love this song - the first two minutes of nonsense is all worthwhile when you get to 2:26. Ahhhh.....

I never got that into Quasi. I think it's because they've got a lot of albums and I've absolutely no idea where to dive in.

Any recommendations, mate?
