No, it wasn’t the “fault” of the Taylor Report, nor did I suggest it was.
Just as Heysel was not the fault of the Everton board, but its effect on this club was palpable.
The Taylor Report provided a catalyst for major change in English football just as Sky entering the field around the same time and the invention of the Premier League did but EFC, or more specifically the “board” was gripped by inertia and the die was cast.
And as Mr. Peter Johnson was “the board” for most of the 90s when most of the damage was being done then it seems you do grasp at least some of what I am saying.
I am merely offering personal opinions as to the reasons our club has fallen from grace over the past thirty years or so.
It was not just one person’s fault nor was there one defining issue that caused it.....it was a combination of events over the course of ten or twelve years, not all of it but most of it during the tenure of Mr. Peter Johnson.
