Who could go?

I hope no one go out before next January, after we get some new faces in our squad. But in regard to many rumours, AJ should be the outgoer. :@

AJ

I would definitely miss Andy Johnson, I believe lack of service, especially the lack of service played along the ground has been his problem. And that's definitely the problem of the likes of Hibbert and Jagielka and a midfield often composed of Neville and Carsley so given the right distribution (Fernandes, Cana or whoever's a pivot pitbull who can play the ball) he could well be a good scorer for us. However, he should neither be guaranteed to play from start with players like Big Vic and Jimmy V in the ranks that offer something more powerful and given his reputation that could make him want to move on. If we received good money for him, I would accept that sale but we would have to replace him then - everyone should remember his first season with us, he was very important.

A comparable situation is with Zlatan Ibrahimovic in Sweden, where incidentally come from - he is our by far most important player but seldomly scores. However his style of play (which is not to be compared with AJ) takes a lot of energy and attention away from defenders and opens the way for other players such as Cahill - even when not touching the ball for a game players like AJ or Zlatan make a difference in a game. And again, the reason that he's so bad some times is because he hasn't received a decent through ball since 2006!

I hope that there is little movement through the exit door, perhaps with the exception of VDM who contributes nothing to the squad. The AJ rumours are unsettling but if anyone had to go, then I suspect Moyes would cash in but bring another striker in. My only concern is that if we did bring some big fella in, would we see the return (did it ever go away completely) of more hoofball? Pienaar and Fernandes have been passing the ball to AJ on the ground the few times that AJ has played and it has always created chances.
Another target man would reduce the chances of us playing the lovely through balls that Manny and Stevie P can play. Having said that, DM will have something up his sleeve no doubt.
My other concern is that Davie Weir comes back as number 2. Great guy etc but yet another lover of 'miss out the midfield' style of play.

If we still had McFadden I think Moyes would let AJ go for silly money. But being that we havent and with Vaughan being injury prone, Anichebe needing more 1st team to progress, we've only got Yak as a reliable goal scorer.

We're lacking in midfield where I feel we need to spend all our resources as well as some back up in defence rather than splash 15 mill on a striker. If we're gonna get another striker in I'd rather it be a loan, something like City could be doing for Dos Santos from Barcelona.

i dont think aj will leave unless we get a massive 10 mill offer its not worth being short of strikers unless we can get somone better and to be honnest its not the position we need to add numbers

AJ will only go if we've got someone lined up (not Jo, there's no way we're signing that lad), surely Moyes will have learnt from his previous mistakes of letting people go and not replacing them, it showed when the energy levels of the players sapped away towards the end of the season.

The only thing i like about this jo lad is that he is left footed and thats it. Moyes seem's to be loooking beyond europe prob Because there price wont fly up cause they wont be involved in a big tournament this summer. I hope AJ will stay and we invest in fast comfortable with the ball wingers. I think we need someone like Ashley Young of Villa. In centre midfield I would love to see him get Dudu I like this lad, he's good on the ball a plays a lovely pass. I think we need to sign at least 5 quality squad players.

Arteta isn't going anywhere. He's shown he's dedicated to the team by playing through the pain of an injury over half the season. If he wasn't dedicated to Everton he would have not played looking to recover and move elsewhere.

AJ - I believe that we are being linked with too many strikers for this not to be in the back of DM's mind. And... I think it might be a good idea to move him given the right price. It could be good for both AJ and the club. He has been blacklisted by at least 2 of the sky4 and can't buy a penalty in the premiership. For crying out loud, he even had a goal pulled back on the most proposerous of offsides calls.

I submit that he will not get his fair shake as long as he continues to wear blue (well maybe in uefa) and that a change of venue could possibly give him a clean slate and rid the club of a player who will not be allowed to play to his value. Win-win, if we get the right bid.
