Anyone on hear suffer from White Coat Syndrome???

I go the quacks and have my BP done and its always sky as I worry about it

For example I went to docs yesterday was 148/ 97

Took BP at home a hour later on a brand new BP Monitor 131/ 82

Just wondered if anyone else has the same problem

The doc tells me my true BP reading is the one that I take at home and seems happy about it

Have you bought yourself a bp machine? Why? Have you been given cause for concern? I wouldnt be concerned if I saw that reading.

Then I'd say you're fine - to be sure, take your BP first thing in the morning when you wake up and last thing at night, and take the average across the two.

I had a BP machine for a few years mate and just to be on the safe side bought a brand new one the readings were fine so I was quite relieved

Apparently a quarter of people diagnosed with high BP may be suffering from White coat and taking medication uneccesarily
