Which Everton goal do you think about the most?

Context considered and what relegation at that time, with our ownership and stadium build would have meant - the most important goal in our history.

Doucoure Vs Bournemouth.
Staring relegation down at a time when our own ownership was pissing around was much more dangerous. See below was almost a mirror copy of the 93/94 ownership between Carter/Marsh and Johnson.

This goal saved the club, and enabled us to win the FA cup the next season. There is no way we win that trophy without being in a relegation scrap.

We also went in 0-2 down here.

Not even close IMO.

Money/context - relegation in that Bournemouth game would have buried us. We had no assets to sell, no capacity to spend and stadium to still complete. I think being unable to spend to get back up, we'd have sunk and done a Leeds/Sunderland and spent decades out the top flight.

Which would have been more damaging to the club could make a good thread/discussion though.

Baines' FK against Newcastle...boom. Ferguson against Manure 2005, was lucky enough to be there. Cahill bicycle against Chelsea, we were short on strikers, big-game Tim delivers as usual. Pienaar chip vs. Arsenal in the snow.
Your post reminded me of the Baines brace of free kicks at West Ham. Pity we haven't had a consistent taker of them since he retired.

I cried. tvvats.
It burns me to this day. The only consolation was that the RS lost the final.

Looking at some of the comments, it is a sober reminder of just how many times we have been screwed over by the powers of the game - refs pre and post VAR, UEFA - banned - thanks to the [Phrase removed] from Mordor and the Football League/Premier League.

Whilst we immediatley remember the concerted efforts of Richard Masters and the points deductions, we tend to forget that we were screwed over the Tony Kay incident in 1964 where we not only lost the player due to the ban, but the transfer fee paid for him as well!

The situation was repeated years later with the Nameless Icelandic player who, it should be remembered, wasn't even charged or convicted, yet we weren't given any credit during the PSR tribunals due to the loss of player, loss of wages and loss of any potential transfer fee. Meanwhile there are numerous other players charged with rape or betting offences that played on and in the case of Ivan Toney was eventually only suspended not banned.

Anyway, back on topic, my avatar is Sharps goal against the RS at the pit in 1984. I was there at the Anfield Road end - this edges it above the other goals for me.

That one Jeffers scored and a certain someone couldn't soil himself fast enough to chalk it off for his beloveds.
Another similar one, a Cahill header that apparently had been crossed from beyond the by line. A different someone couldn't soil himself fast enough to disallow it for his beloveds.
That one with Iceland not interfering with play sat on his backside vs man utd, another utter helmet couldn't soil himself fast enough to rule it out.

Funny how these things work out. Or rather very much not.
