Which Everton games have left you feeling at rock bottom?

Wigan in the cup 0-3
Hull the other week 2-0
Liverpool 2-1 Semi Final.
Chelsea 1-2 in the final. I genuinley thought that was going to be our year.

Pretty much every game in December.

The semi-final at Wembley against the RS was a truly horrible one too, was one of the first people out of the ground and had to walk past a group of cockney Asians waving their red scarfs about and singing YNWA. Never forget that moment, made me think "what's the efffing point of being an Evertonian when you have to put up stuff like this?" When I got back to Liverpool that night I didn't come out of my house or read the newspapers for about a week.

The 0-3 Wigan game was a strange one. Was guttered of course but I wasn't depressed about it, I was just in complete shock and couldn't accept that it was real.

just looking at our run in that competition makes me think backa t how it seemed to be. Beating a cracking villa side, them lot after a replay, united on pens, boro after being one down. Such a shame.
For me the REading game in the FA cup in 2011 I think, we had just beaten chelsea and went down to such a poor side, granted we were up against city in the next round but such a poor game.

also the cup tie against oldham in 08 i think when we lost 1-0. The year portsmouth went on to win it, listening to all the big teams being knocked out and the all premier league ties in the early rounds, made me sick that we got beat by them.

The worst game ever for me for that rock bottom despair of utter hopelessness and depression was losing 4-0 at Highbury, second last game of the 1997-98 season, leaving just the home game with Coventry game to come.

Totally agree with that one. Closely followed by the QF defeat at OT in the early 80s when they scored in the last minute, the defeat at Luton when we were chasing the league under Gordon Lee (or was it Bingham, can't remember), and of course the (last minute) defeat at Oxford in the penultimate game of the 85/6 season which gave the title to the RS on a plate.

Sadly, there have been more games leaving me feel rock bottom than there have been those that have left me on top of the world. Goes with being an Evertonian these days, I suppose.

I remember being drained by Ba's last minute goal for Newcastle in the 12/13 season at Goodison. We'd abolutely destroyed Newcastle and had conceded from their only two shots, the second of which from a long ball down the middle in the 94th minute. I knew then we'd fall short that season, a bit like the Sturridge equaliser in the 3-3. That should have been the final straw for Distin but ibstead we're still talking about him 2 years and a load of mistakes later.

Beating united on pens made me feel like we finally had abit of luck, especially when united should of beaten us in the normal 90 minutes anyway.
I dont mind losing as long as the team shows some spirit and fight, against chelsea in the final the players seemed as shocked as the fans we scored so early.

The infamous "Glen Keeley" derby 0.5 hammering Rush got 4.
The stick I got all night off my mates were " Did you Rush to get here? & Wots the time? 5 past Southall

I travelled on the overnight B&I ferry(10.30 pm to 7.30 am) from Dublin with the Dublin ESC for that fiasco.

After the game I was coming out of the Winslow, when I saw John Bailey. I asked him to sign the programme, and he sheepishly did so while apologizing for the result. He asked had I come far, and when I told him he apologized even more. Always loved the lad!!

We met in the Midland before getting the bus to the ferry terminal. While nursing some pints, the plod came in, came over to us and asked if we were from Dublin. When we said we were, they asked us to get down to the ferry asap as there was a gang of NF/orange kopites going around looking for us.

When we got to the ferry later for the home trip, we found that P&O to Belfast was on strike so their passengers were put on the Dublin boat.

Spent the night listening to tanked up orange redshi7es roaring their heads off.

Awful awful trip.

God yes, I had somehow managed to block this memory when doing the opening post. I was very low after this for what seemed like weeks, after the game though it was sheer anger how we had been 1-0 up, looking good and then tossing it away against a crap team. It was the sense of what might have been. Horrible.

Jay Spearing was in the rs team that day, as was Brad Jones. I remember my stomach sinking to the core of the earth when the ball landed on that scruffy gypsy's head in the last minute. I knew that was it, there was no way back. People around me were shouting in a desperate attempt to rally the players one last time, but I couldn't. There was more chance of Wembley being ravaged by a giant Godzilla than us equalising after that
